Interestingly enough, once you have proven that person is guilty, they then give that person a trial of their own. I suspect that trial is very boring and is just a summary of what you just spent days trying to figure out.

It still amazes me how many villains would probably get away with it by not implicating themselves to be tied to the case. There's even cases where the murderer is honestly not even connected to anything that would get them called in but show up anyways because I guess they get to gloat about how smart they are to get away with it.

Only Luke Atmey does a good job of subverting this, and maybe Dahlia because she wanted to avoid court but got dragged in.

Is Redd White? an exception? (Is he even a spoiler? As the game outright tells you he's the killer before the case even starts)

As he willingly went to court but was so rich and powerful he couldn't get arrested and he knew it, and is to date one of the few villains that Phoenix had NO WAY of beating under normal circumstances. (And Phoenix already lost the trial despite having direct evidence linking him as the murderer, before Deus Ex Mia-china showed up and saved his butt at the last second.)

In Dual Destinies Case 4, you DO get a Not Guilty verdict despite not proving the true culprit's identity... At least, first off.

DD case 5 I think gives you a different ending where if you mess up proving the Phantom guilty, then he gets off scot-free, but so do Athena and Simon. It's just that public trust in the legal system goes down the shitter afterwards.

After watching a T&T LP recently, this happens to a horrendous degree in case 5. Even after you prove that Iris couldn't be the killer because she was on the wrong side of the bridge, and thus it has to have been someone else, she'll STILL be given a guilty verdict if you game over.

Also, to everyone else posting spoilers in the thread, please list the game name BEFORE the spoiler. It kinda sucks hovering over a spoiler and suddenly seeing "Dual Destinies" when you haven't beaten that game yet.

The blame also lies in the prosecution, which should rescind the accusation once it's proven that the accused couldn't have committed the crime. However, no prosecutor - even those that are out for the "truth" (looking at you, Edgypoo - bothers, or even bats an eye when the guilty verdict comes down on the wrong party.
