So the new comic is out, and I must say I am curious. Since the artist is a rocket scientist, I'm genuinely curious about her thoughts on the plausibility of this weapon.

So Katie, please would you care to explain to us the aerodynamic properties of a small rodent?

The design looks very similar to a potato gun. However, loading squishy things into a potato gun results in them getting splattered out a few feet in front of you in a hundred pieces, instead of launched for hundreds of yards in one piece. In order to use the gerbils as projectiles, my guess is that we will need to freeze them first, or possibly coat them with some sort of high-grade polymer. At least those would be the first things I'd try, based on watching Mythbusters.

You could always encapsulate them, fire them out that way. Hell, paint the balls red n' white.
