Hahaha, I knew exactly what the joke was before I even read the annotation BECAUSE I DO THE SAME THING. Except to my own archers. You know, to keep them safe.

At first I thought it was a relationship joke, since you have to be beside other units to increase it. That smile was pretty creepy in the last panel after all. It's funny either way, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere on the internet, there was an FF fan game where instead of fighting...
well y'know...

I'll show myself out.

If there isnt a joke about how an archer made it out of the castle only to be forced into this, im going to be disappointed.

You posted just yesterday
In fact you posted something in a separate thread immediately before posting this
The last time you posted in Le Comic was Wednesday

Archer boxing. Wonderfully familiar!
In response to Katie's comment on the page, I find that I also frequently wonder what the AI thinks of the strange things they're put through during my odd strategies in games.

When I do it to enemy Fighters, I like to picture that they're holding the plane in place with lassos.

This is why Archers need to be able to punch, or gain something like Knives on promotion (at least in PoR/RD).

Also, I have taken the liberty of making myself a new Avatar.

This is definitely my new favorite comic. Basically the gist of how I recruit Donnel in FE: Awakening every time.

This is why they added crossbows in those two games. The enemy soldiers just don't usually have them.

Being able to punch? Like, attack without a weapon? How does that even make sense!? You can't do that in a video game!

I think an archer should be able to hit point-blank targets just fine without any other tools (or having to rely on punches) if they were properly trained by their military.
The games would need to be rebalanced, though.
