Don't worry, Norrin. Chances are that they'll be so emotionally attached that when one dies the other will follow within days if not hours.

Actually, I had two kittens that were siblings and were that close, and when one died the other limped along in emotional misery for about 11 years before coming out of her slump. She's fine now, but she wasn't the same for that whole time.

After nearly 15 years of being inseparable sisters one of our cats died a few months ago. The other one hasn't been the same since. I hope your cats enjoy the time they have together.

This sort of happened by proxy for me. My older brother had two cats, Thai and Shelby. Thai ate some flowers that were poisonous to cats and died just before his wedding. Fortunately the story has a pop flyin' ending: Shelby's now living with me as my cat, and she's very pop flyin'.

This past may, my family got two chesapeake Bay Retriever puppies who are sisters. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about what's going to happen when one of them dies. It doesn't help that my family lost two elderly dogs this past year (one in feburary, and another in november).

SO YEP. PETS. They sure do break your heart.
