That's totally the Eye of the Sheikah upside-down right?
Because a Layton-Zelda mashup has some merit.
The funny thing is that the symbol is from the Layton/Ace Attorney crossover.
Well, that's not exactly the same symbol, it does not have the tear :

You could say it's the former symbol of the Sheikah, we learn from Sheik in the OoT's manga that at the begining, Sheikah's symbol did not have the tear but a tragedy happened (a treason if I remember well) and they added the tear to remember. This fact seems to not be considered canon by Nintendo (I don't know if my sentence is correct, but I think you understood), when we see the timeline and we see the tear in Skyward Sword (on Impa for example).

So in PLvsAA they made an upside down sheikah symbol without the tear, it's the mark of the witch if I remember well, and it can be seen as the great witch's head upside down too... I don't know if that Zelda reference was intensional or not...
Anyway, I completely agree with Katie on this comic, and for me it does not apply only for Point and Click. In RPGs for example, when I know that I must go in that city, I always look everything on the map before. It's a sickness linked to the willing to not miss anything, and it's particularly frustrating in games where there are dumb missables. Fortunately, in Layton's games, you can always visit all the screen agains after completing the game (and it's the same with PLvsAA), and the puzzles you missed are keeped (but it is better to check them yourself, for the dialogue...). I miss approximately one by game... :/
Oh and speaking of PLvsAA edits... (maybe if I try again...)
