This is too true. It'd make my games easier if I just threw caution into the wind.

What a waste of healing potions...

Haha, this happens to me too often. I'm so anal about preserving every single resource.

Also Hector is awesome. He is made of win and battle ax.

I always use my health potions, I just can't stand not having full health.

Obsesive compulsive disorder?

I do the same thing. 'One of a kind' items is a common thing that I never use since I "might need it later".

It's just one of those things I guess.

This is the god daisies curse of gaming.

"What if..."

You see a fairly large monster who is mopping the floor with you somewhat and you have the power to defeat it with something, but what if a larger monster walks by and you need it then?

This phenomenon is quite prevalent in RPGs, but I've seen it be a larger issue when it comes to me and my pals playing Mega Man games. We'd be in the middle of Wily's Castle and we have basically never touched a weapon unnecessarily nor have we used an E-Tank for fear that we will need it later. Again, what if this boss isn't as hard as the next boss and we need the E-Tank for that boss instead. Eventually we'll have 9 E-Tanks and will still be reluctant to use one.

What if-ing is such a dilemma.

This is why I read a walkthrough before I play a level of any TBS.

Slightly related, I tend to always feel the need to keep a good supply of items in multiples of five. don't know why.

Comic made me lol.

I have this habit too, although I do get everyone to have carry their own vulnerary. (And of course, I try to stock up enough in the convoy). Weapons, however, I'm a bit more conservative. Even if the character can wield something A rated, I keep having them getting stuck with E rated weapons. =[

I'm not so extreme to apply it to simple healing potions (unless I can sell them) but anything remotely rare I always hesitate to use unless its the final battle. And then I usually finish the game with like 90% of my stock intact...

I tend to stick to teh "1 stack and sell the rest" approach, which means I only use items if they're taking up one slot too many in inventory.

...so I generally run around with 5/10/20 of something, and NEVER use it, unless I find another one and need it before I reach a shop.

Altering characters isn't one of my strongest points. =[

Now that was a REALLY funny comic! I always save things like healing potions for later and finish the game with like 60 of them!
