NOOOOOO! Nonononono NO!

I understand that PNG's take like, FOREEEVER to load, but JPEG's are not the way to go!

Might I link you all again to Nobody Scores!

This man uses GIF compression for GREAT BEAUTY. I admit that this often causes a single comic to be segmented, but I've never seen any Awkward Zombies that big.

I noticed, too, and now everything looks like the fabulous comic that was suddenly saved improperly.

Why? WHYYYYYYYYY??

Meh, forget that, I knew why.

Comedy Central doesn't have a history of such standards of high quality imagery. Neither does my signature.

AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED the load times on AZ are abysmal. I'm working on completely renovating the site, blah blah blah, but until then saving the comics as .jpgs and hosting them from PhotoBucket saves a whole lot of bandwidth. It's just an experiment for now but I really don't like what it does to the quality. WORK IN PROGRESS.

It'll go back to normal soon.

I save all my master artwork as .ai or .ps or .eps files because someone told me once that .jpgs degrade - is there any truth in that?

I only save .jpgs for online material - is .png format faster/better/more stable?

gifs are generally ALOT smaller in bytes, unless they have some animation to them and even then they're usually still alot smaller. HOWEVER they do tend to keep the quality in check but i haven't been paying enough attention to notice too much difference, personally.

.ai or .ps or .eps -no idea what they are. I only stick to jpeg and gifs.

Yes, png is better for internet purposes; there's no lossy compression like with jpegs.

I rarely see any difference between .jpeg and .png when someone optimizes the image. Doesn't take too much effort. I use Gimp myself.
