I hate VGCats. I could list my reasons why but it's kind of been dragged through the mud enough in this thread.

When you realize that you have been reading a comic for 100s of pages or years and it isn't funny. At one point it was funny or made you laugh and now you have gone a long time without even smiling because you know that it was funny at some point.

I do like xkcd, but I do get rustled when there's math jokes that I'm 100% sure nobody else who reads webcomics will get either (Not that people who read webcomics aren't smart, it's just i doubt there's too many math majors). It feels kind of pretentious.

How is it pretentious that he's choosing a theme for his jokes? That isn't his fault that some people won't get it.

It is his fault that other people won't get it because it's his fucking joke.
It's a bad theme if you don't know what it is, especially in comedy.

So it's not his fault.

Allow me to rephrase that.

It's a bad theme if your audience doesn't know what it is. It's his fault for choosing one that doesn't make sense.

"I love it when I tell the audience my you-had-to-have-majored-in-this-field-to-get-it jokes. That blank stare from 90% of the audience is THE GREATEST!"

Why doesn't it make sense?

Ditto. Happened to me awhile back with Ctrl-Alt-Del. So I stopped reading it.

So? Just because he acknowledges it doesn't make it less annoying. I hate checking the site all seeing that three new comics came out, none of which I can comprehend in the slightest because I'm just some foolish internet pleb. I get that a lot of people makes this stuff for themselves, but when you have a decent sized fan based it almost seems... unfair. Especially since I've bought merch from that dude, I sort of expect something I can enjoy. If that makes sense...

Is Cntrl+Alt+Delete that comic that had a miscarriage because it wanted to be taken seriously? Yeah, I've checked that out once before. Not a fan.

The thing about xkcd is that the guy really does have a substantial amount of people in his fanbase that actualy understand all of his jokes. I've seen them on his forum which is made up of the most brainy fuckwads in existance. They just...discuss things. Not a single non-sequitor in any of the threads. Regardless of this, the guy often jibes at the fact that no one will understand the jokes in the scroll-over text. I love the webcomic, but it has a VERY polarizing hit-or-miss vibe about it.

EDIT: Ctrl-alt-delete suks my cock and Tim Buckley should be sodomized with a cactus because he's an unlikeable twat.

EDIT 2: Page get a go go Baby!
