skilled pickachus are rare, cause most people think he sucks.

Its not the character, its the player. pick the moves that fit you best, not the character you prefer.

Although, I'll admit the reason I first chose pikachu as "my guy" probably had less to do with his agile moveset and more to do with the fact that I was ten years old when brawl came out.

That's the reason Peach is my main in Melee.

But I think I was like 8.

Hence, I'm stuck with aerodynamic characters. Kirby is like one of the few other characters I use well.

But what am I talking about I haven't played that in forever and the gamecube is broke.

It also caused some pecular jumping habits in other games- using the double-jump when I don't really need too, Always using the hover ability when I don't need to, holding down the jump button too long, yuddayuddayudda

I thought I was good at quick characters, but I eventually fuigured out that I'm not (the fact that I was better at using Jigglypuff than Young Link helped me sort that one out).

God I am editing this post a lot.

That is if you just want to win, no matter what. If you're playing for fun, it's obvious you're going with the characters you like the most. Also, nothing stops you from learning how to play with the character you like, just practice enough and you would be good with it.
Also, that's the fun of brawl, playing with whatever character of the Nintendo world you like the most. If it was like you are saying, everyone would just play as MetaKnight and it wouldn't be fun.

Some friends of mine are those called tourneyfags, and they already showed me that Meta Knight is really a dick if played in a certain way. I'll just say it isn't fun.

So you're admitting you choose the characters you can most easily score KOs with, and don't even try to learn how to use a character properly (i.e. not button mash like a 'tard, or just use one move over and over again)...

...in a roundabout way you're also admitting that Pikachu has a cheap moveset.

I've worked on a lot of different characters, and in doing so have found ways to adapt strategies to deal with different kinds of opponents.

Snake's moveset is really out of whack with the rest of the other characters. I've been trying to figure out how to best score KOs with him for ages, and only just figured it out last night (his Down-B is so awesome for suckering people).

In brawl, ever since I unlocked Sonic, he became my main.

First, I tried experimenting with him. Simply learning his moves and whatnot.

Then I tried some battles, I seemed to do really well.

I then found his major weaknesses and found a way to block them from being hit.

I then learned how to pull a 12 move combo while your opponent is in the air.

And then I kicked everybody's booty.

I have seven characters I main in Brawl.

It would've been eight if Roy was still in. D=

I'm not saying I always pick the same character and that I have to win every time! I'm just pointing out what to do to have a better chance at winning!

You can still play with any other character and have as much of a chance at winning.

Personnaly I think it's all about having fun.
