AWKWARD ZOMBIE

I've played WoW.

It wasn't that interesting. It didn't really have much of anything that was it's own, that was unique, that I couldn't find anywhere else.

I don't know, I just didn't like it all that much.

I think the main problem with the WoW comics is that they rely on visual gags too much. The reason most of us like the Zelda comics, apart from their being more familiar to the AZ audience, is because you have the interplay between link and navi/midna. Notice the good WoW comics have dialogue in them. Swindling Kindling, In A Blink, In Tow, and Icebreaking had little dialogue and unfamiliar characters. Because WoW doesn't have easily identifiable characters that people have all at least heard of, it's hard to recognize the jokes. Katie as an author character works because she's been around in all the Cockfighting Society comics and a number of others (GH and Red Steel come to mind), so we identify. But now, she's introducing all her random guys and buddies and stuff and nobody has any idea who they are besides some generic whoozit.

Long story short, Katie needs to give her WoW guys personality before the WoW comics become really funny. People need to see "oh, there's that tauren who talks like X, or the undead who makes that face Y".

Her best works are the ones where she's invented the characters personalities - i.e. Marth and Roy.

That characterisation made the comics great, why she decided to turn her back on some of her most successful characterisations I'll never understand.

WoW characters with personalizations would make Awkward Zombie into a WoW comic. I know most of you don't want that, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite?

She's been on WoW for a year, nothing can save her now.

She's clearly drawn more LoZ/Brawl comics more than WoW, she's not gone. :/ And if she were "truly possessed" by it then there wouldn't be a comic at all.

The quests suck at the beginning, I'll admit but they get better. It's no RPG that's for sure but it has it's moments later on.



I just think a statement like "the evil beast of WoW" deserves more of a reason than "Because you want me to like it." Honestly, I could care less about you liking the game.

It makes it seem like you only hate the game because it's popular and that's pretty sad. :/
