Indeed. Still, I just got done with the 14th chapter of Pokemon Adventures, and Blue just [spoiler]killed an Arbok with his Charmeleon.[/spoiler] And I'm fairly sure that it's going to get worse (half a dozen people have already tried to kill Red).

The English version of the Pokemon anime is the only part of the Pokemon franchise that's family friendly. SRSLY.

On the issue of Kotone... I never liked the male trainers. I'm just not a big fan of guys in general. I don't want someone who's 2.5 times as likely to not wash their hands handling my pokeballs.

True, I'm guessing it's an archaic rule that some carry over and some consider obsolete. It just bugs me when reading a word in caps and the accents make the word and the writer has omitted them. Like, come on man!

I think it has more to do with the differences in what is considered family friendly between Japan and America.

Violence, where the consequences of violence are shown, generally is considered to be fine in Japan.

On the opposite hand... Violence, where long as Tom is unharmed when the scene changes five seconds after Jerry cuts off his head in a guillotine, generally is considered absolutely fine in America.

Yup. In America, Violence is only bad if it shows people getting hurt and dying... If it shows people not being harmed from violence, it's great for kids!

I do find it odd that we consider "cartoon violence" to not be as worthy of TV-14+ ratings as we do regular violence.

But this is beginning to get political.

Besides, a lot of anime does have cartoon violence. What about the episode where Misty hits Ash with a log? Or where he gets shocked by Pikachu or burned to a crisp by Charmeleon? Five seconds later, he's fine.
