But the Kickstarter supporters are mostly people who bought the book. Anyway, while it's true that the forum should not be a big priority for Katie, I think the main site suffers under traffic load occasionally as well, so that might be something to look in to.

With how glaringly awesome this book is going to be it should probably include asshole shades with every copy.
My god, those new pledges. Some crafty forumites might consider pooling their resources on a comic they want drawn.

Have you actually discussed the copyright infringement issues with a lawyer or are you just hoping for the best with your "It's a parody!" defence? Because I don't know if the latter will really hold up against Nintendo themselves - much less international copyright concerns.

At the end of the day your comics - though a parody - are featuring characters which are in themselves intellectual property of companies/individuals. If you're making cheddar off of those characters or their likenesses (which arguably you are) I'm concerned Nintendo (and/or others) could lawsuit you.

I genuinely don't think the "It's a parody!" defence holds as much strength as people believe/claim it does.

Don't everybody jump down my throat now just because I've been the first to call out the elephant in the room.
