I've read a good bit now, and I know one thing: It's either INCREDIBLY genius, or it's COMPLETELY pathetic. But I can't tell which...

Aside from Boston and Shaun and Sarah Zero, I must say: you're all amateurs. I've seen the true face of webcomics. You folks have only scratched the surface.

Trust me: Sarah Zero is awful. No comic is more pretentious and wrapped in it's own arrogance than SZ. I've read the entire archive (not by choice. I'm doing an article for Cracked about webcomics) and I'll tell you right now: if you like the color red, you will learn to hate it halfway through the archive. In short, it's absolutely baffling.

For example, in this comic, you'll notice two things:
-Sarah's legs are suddenly eight feet long, and
-Sarah appears to be giving birth to a tsunami.

One could argue that it's a genius metaphor for something. One could even argue the entire comic is utter inspiration, but I'll not be that advocate. As I stated, I'm very unsure how I feel about that webcomic... either way, I have it bookmarked until I decide...

Those same people end up doing Undenominated Arts in university, and after which don't really do anything with their life for a while until they realise that, no, the universe is not one big cosmic drug trip.

It's not a "comic" in the "comic" sense. It's more Art in graphic novel form.
...although I do see it as a bit too much.
That page you linked has nothing to do with realism (it's a stylised comic, so realism shouldn't be a concern)... badly placed water splash maybe, but she is being pulled out of the ocean and breaking free from the bonds that held her.

There's a difference between having a type of drawing style and not being able to draw the human body.

It's a webcomic posing as a graphic novel.

I could go on, but this sums up my feelings towards SZ.

Did they mention anywhere that the entire story takes place online (as in, "that nightclub? It's actually a chat-room")?

That's the feeling I got from some parts of the comic, but it's never stated anywhere that it is.

"Sarah Zero is a feisty redhead struggling to find love and validation on the internet" - it's in the Boring Details. Context can often help, but I can't make you like it, ofc.

Should we stretch out the page count with pointless words then?
