In the batman chronology the joker is typically pointed to as 'this is how you do a villain right' (except for brave and the bold)

This is a good thing to use in the context of what I added earlier in response to LockeZ's point-a villain in a story not meant to be taken seriously should not be taken as a serious villain and judged as such

Does this discussion about nintendo villains include 3rd party? Because Airy is pretty bad. I mean, this is forgoing the easy 3rd part options like, oh, I dunno, Satan, but spoiler-tag is pretty bad.

Rather eloquent for only your ninth comment here. Good on you.
Also, I cannot change my avatar until I can successfully craft a Wigglythulu from Katie's comics.

Meanwhile in Star Fox Assault, Fox attacks Team Star Wolf's base and kills dozens of Wolf's henchmen looking for Pigma, only for Wolf to then show up and tell him that he kicked Pigma out of Team Star Wolf years ago. Uh. Whoops. I think that makes Fox actually a worse villain than anyone else in Nintendo history?

Having reluctantly played Assault recently, I can confirm this is simply not true. Fox specifically tells the monkey/ape/simian guard at the Sargasso space station that he's only looking for Pigma and isn't interested in a fight. The guard tells him Pigma's not there and to scram. But upon realizing it's Star Fox he's talking to the guard explicitly states he's not letting them leave alive, forcing the confrontation. A confrontation which could've easily been avoided because Wolf knew where Pigma was the whole time as evidenced afterwards. Wolf is a bad leader who let his entire criminal enterprise get shot to pieces because of his pride even though he has no reason to protect Pigma considering he already had fired him well before the events of Assault. Assault's story is bad, is what I'm trying to say here.

You never once actually see Ganondorf harm a single person or give his henchmen a single order in most of the games, to my recollection; much less set fire to Nibelheim and then fall from the ceiling and impale Aeris. The vast majority of what he does is simply stuff you're assuming he did.

I may be misremembering from the Beforetime, but in OOT don't we see him deliver the killing spell on the Great Deku Tree(even if it takes a while to make the kill)?

Well, the Deku tree tells you that Ganondorf placed a death curse on him, but you never see it happen. You do see the Deku Tree die though, so you're right, that's something. It was the early game catalyst designed to make the player hate Ganondorf. For some reason though, maybe because their target audience was under the age of ten and they didn't want to actually show anything really unpleasant to tender eyes, they had it happen via a curse that had already occured off-camera instead of having Ganondorf show up in person and burn the tree down.

You only actually see or hear Ganondorf five times in the entire game. You see him talking to someone in the Hyrule Castle throne room, you see him chasing Zelda and Impa out of the castle on horseback (this scene is repeated several times), you hear him in a vision thanking you for letting him enter the Sacred Realm after you unlock the Temple of Time and grab the Master Sword, you hear his voice echoing as he kidnaps Zelda when she reveals herself to be Sheik, and then you fight him as the final boss.

I don't understand why people want Ridley in Smash. He is a giant purple space lizard with no personality. I also don't like Wolf and I am glad he is not in Smash 4.

If he has no personality, it's because for the most part, the Metroid games don't seem too big on that. Ridley's just kinda there. He's a big, supposedly intelligent space pirate purple dragon. From space. That works for a spiky, one-eyed brain that lives in a tank and can inexplicably turn in to a science experiment gone wrong to combine T-Rex DNA with computers and tanks that shoot rainbow lasers.

That said, he's wanted because he's cool, and because people wanna make Samus beat the shit out of Ridley in yet another game.

You would actually be mistaken in that assumption. Fans of Metroid know that Ridley is actually a tactical genius who is just as intelligent as Samus. He simply seems unintelligent because he doesn't speak English (mostly because he's really xenophobic) and because of his animalistic battle style, which actually serves to show his brutal and cruel personality. His battle style may not appear to be "intelligent", but every move he makes is most likely well thought out-but executed in a brutal fashion. Also Ridley built a robotic duplicate of himself for the lolz, so he's also a little narcissistic.
:eng101: So in conclusion Ridley actually does have a personality, much like how the other silent Nintendo characters have their own personalities.
