Link can only carry 999 rupees at a time and the armor drains your rupee supply quite quickly over time, and each hit it absorbs drains 12 rupees each, while the Heavy's minigun holds 200 rounds, each round dealing 50 to 54 damage. So unless link has well over 2400 rupees then he is a goner.

IF the magic armor didn't drain rupees over time and instead drained the rupees at a rate of one rupee to 1 point of damage then the total needed amount of rupees-to-rounds would be anywhere from 10000 to 10800 at point blank (no crits, 21600 as all crits), 1000 to 6000 at medium range (no crits, 6000 to 21600 as all crits), 1000 to 2000 from long range (no crits, 6000 to 10800 as all crits.)

All data is taken off their respected wikis, so all data is as accurate as can get.
