Which programs you got to make edits?

I usually use the Magic Wand in Paint.Net to remove whatever I don't need and then copy and paste whatever remains on a second layer on whatever comic I want to edit. Make sure to properly adjust the tolerance, though, preferrable as high as possible without it accidentally embracing parts I want to keep in.
