You guys all make some really good points, I would say from my own experience that when ever you creating something you tend to focus more on the critics then the complements and there are a hell of a lot out there who just want to pull your work down, some times you can get some great feed back from this and sometimes it is just some prick who has nothing better to do, either way you got to keep an eye on why you started doing it in the first place and if you enjoy it then who cares what they think,

I like this comic itís funny and I like the style so keep up the good work Katie Oh and if you can make a Snatcher based strip that would be ace :D

I've been through maybe thirty, forty different webcomics, imo she's doing fine. Updates pretty regularly (a lot of my list is what, 50/50? ffs guys) it's color, and the art/humor never struck me as poor, I like, nothing wrong with the expressions and their "timing" and whatever. You might say it's smash-bros heavy, but so what? Who said the comic was about anything? If it's funny, go with it. "My comic sucks" doesn't earn points in my book, but if it's free and there's no other kind of high horse to knock them off of, it's kinda lame to down say it. What, is it sport to poopoo it around here? I mean, CAD is "lolCAD" around the intraweb a fair bit, but not on their own forum. Or we talking about one post wonders?

Critics are supposed to get you down, how else would you learn anything.

If the cartoonist thinks his or her cartoon is stupid, he or she thinks it's stupid. Usually, it doesn't matter how many people like, it's his or her decision on what to do with it.

Also, I don't know any people on this forum who dislike this comic but if they are, in fact, present, they haven't made it public.

In other words, mean cranky critics who dont like anything, rock. :pseudo:

No, thats just taking an extreme when you are contradicted, if you were. Merlin's just saying that pointing out flaws instead of berating/flaming/raging the comic is whats expected. People may not get all of her jokes, I can say I don't get the fire Emblem or WoW stuff, but I still think its funny. Besides, there is always plenty worse out there.

I think shes doing just fine when she makes me laugh about games I've never played.

I'm... Really gonna have to "Ditto" you on that.
I also got out my Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess because of the comics, but whatever. That's a little off-topic.

The conversation in this thread has become pointless and silly.

Well, an artist and writer are often their own worst critics... Heck, I've got so many things that people praise as being pretty good that I just stopped on and never touched again (I know a lot of people asked me if I would ever get Resident Evil: Nightmare Asylum back in the works, but I never got the motivation to continue on it. Plus I now really hate Alice)

But yeah, we have days when we just feel bleh and aren't satisfied with our work.

And surprisingly enough, I haven't been able to get many critics on any of my stories... Which is kinda crummy considering I need some, and no one in my school even knows about half the stuff I write. -_- Yay for rednecks.

Katie proves that simple comics can still kick booty. Works for me

Scott from VG cats isn't even trying anymore if you ask me, but Katie puts her all into her comics (or enough of it to make it entertaining). True artists treat their creations like offspring, you have to be strict with them or they'll burn the house down when you're out for dinner. Scott practically treats his art as if he were selling children into sex slavery. That is capitalism, making things purely for profit not fun.

Katie's comics aren't always simple. In fact, they're usually not simple. They can be long winded with too many panels and too much text.

Nobody asked you.

Katie, I lik your comics. I lik 'em a lot. Still, with that said, I agree with Merlin on how your comics can be somewhat long-winded and drawn out at times. That doesn't mean your comic sucks though, at least to me. There's certainly room for improvement, but I honestly think you have a real talent for this that will only get better with time. So keep up the good, albeit QUESTIONABLE work!1one! :o

Sometimes the concepts are just funny on their own. Things not opening when you need to escape wouldn't be any more or less funny without the Metroid-yness, y'know what I mean?

Only bad thing I can find is the jpg thing. Otherwise the overall look of the comic is simple yet so awesome.

I like Katie's comics for mainly three reasons that have probably already been said.

1. Its simplicity makes it REALLY stand out from other webcomics I've seen which is a big plus.

2. She's drawn comics about games I've never played and STILL made me laugh (World of Warcraft . . . yeah, that's right, I know nothing of this >_>)

3. Some odd thoughts I've had about Smash Bros., I've never been able to make humor out of it. She puts it in physical form and more. In fact, her comics actually gave me ideas to play Smash Bros. with (Lucario + Smart Bomb = Mwahahahaha)

I may have just joined the forums today, but I've been reading the comcs for a long time. Never fails to make me lol.

Oh, and I'm just now realizing how old this topic is. Yeah . . . go necroposting.
