It's weird because somebody recently explained the Borderlands random-weapon-creation thing to me.

Wikipedia wrote:
The game uses a "Procedural Content Creation System" to create these weapons and items, which can alter their firepower, rate of fire, and accuracy, add in elemental effects such as a chance to set foes on fire, and at rare times other special bonuses such as regenerating the player's ammo. A color-coded scale is used to indicate the rarity of the weapon or item. It is estimated that the random system can generate over 17 million variations of weapons.

So there ya go, the comic is about how "Procedural Content Creation" sometimes gets it horribly wrong.

Randomly generated equipment. No matter how you spin it, sometimes your going to get someting like "Arcanist Robes...of the Tiger."

Oh great, that strength and agility is JUST what my mage was looking for.

Yay for Katie playing current gen games!

Nice comic and edits, guys!

ALSO congratulations Katie on your anniversary! I only get to celebrate the anniversaries of breakups. Maybe it's because my comic isn't as funny.

What does soup have to do with "the thrill of the fight"?

As one who has played Borderlands on what is approaching obsession, I would like to say this comic made me chuckle merrily. And a scoped shotgun is one of my best weapons :D

Funny, SMGs aren't supposed look anything like shotguns. And shotguns don't go pakka or brak.

To anyone that's been on the fence about getting this game because of the excessive DLC (and the subsequent cost), just pick up the DLC as you go, you don't have to get it all at once.

And now I need to play this again.

Most of the time, I don't buy any game with DLC out of principle.

Especially considering the DLC is typically already on the game disk, and you are paying extra cheddar, on top of what you already paid, to unlock it.

What the hell happened to Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A?

Oh wait. Developers figured out that they could charge you for cheat codes. I have no intention of encouraging this practice by giving my cheddar to developers that do it.
