Regarding the Art Thread:

Do not post your stuff if you do not want people criticizing it. This goes for life in general, and if you really don't want criticism then don't show it off. If you're serious about being an artist, Step 1 is to develop a thick skin, because no matter what you do people are going to be harsh towards you and your work.

THAT BEING SAID, be constructive with feedback and such.

Try not to call out one of your fellow members in public on this forum. They'll be smart enough to know you are talking about them, and it rarely ends well. If you have an issue with someone, either discuss it with them in private, or PM a mod about it if you'd rather not deal with them directly (and if the issue is AZ-related).

You can have a negative opinion about (a) member(s) of AZ, but please try to keep it to yourself. We would like to avoid fights on AZ, and saying that you don't like someone (even without naming anyone) will often end up with you looking like the bad guy and everybody else ganging up on you.
We would like these forums to be a place for people to have fun.

Boys and girls and others, don't forget that your friendly neighbourhood moderators will sometimes send you Private Messages about different things (maybe because you forgot about a rule, or because your signature is too big). Please check your inbox regularly. If you don't, you may miss an informal warning from a mod, that could result in a formal warning, or a ban.

Hey guys wanted to do a quick PSA

Now see, sometimes there will be new threads, and you may find these new threads really dumb, or think they won't last, or whatever. We have seen a lot of forum game type threads recently, and many of them have died quite quickly due to people being smartasses, or the thread itself just being sort of dumb.

This is just a reminder that new threads are, indeed, allowed (unless there's already a thread exactly like it, or the thread is one of those ones where new people try to introduce themselves)

So please don't try to ruin threads, or shit talk them just because you think they're dumb. Just don't post, and if everybody thinks the same way, they'll fade into obscurity.

Also, if the very first post says not to do a particular stupid thing, and you do that particular thing to show off how hilarious you are, you will likely receive a warning (formal or informal depending on the severity or frequency)

Don't put autoplaying YouTube videos in your posts.
It's obnoxious and it can make some people's browsers crash, especially when it's a 10 hours loop of some meme song.
It WILL get you a warning.

When moderators are doing their moderating job, please take them seriously and don't comment on it. If you have serious, constructive comments, send them by PM. If you want to mock a moderator's post, don't. It won't achieve anything except get your post deleted. I don't care how funny you think you are, keep your comment to yourself instead of going off-topic right after a mod posted.

On another, related note, some users seem to be under the delusion than everybody is a smartass on AZ, and that posting is a competition to find who can act like the most condescending asshole.

It is not the case.

Since the rules of this forum seem to have been forgotten by some people, let me quote or rephrase some of them once again:
Don't be rude. Don't antagonize. Don't troll. Do not become the "forum asshole".
Do not act superior. Do not act all-knowing. Do not mock other members.
It will make you look like a tool, and will likely get you a warning.
If you think everyone on AZ tries to be a smartass, you are mistaken.
If you ARE trying to be a smartass. Stop it.
