i've seen plenty of people saying they want Roy back in Smash Bros.
i've also seen plenty of people reply to that by saying that Roy doesn't need to come back because he's just a clone.
both of these statements are redundant and here's why.
here's why it's redundant to state that Roy shouldn't come back because he's a clone of Marth.
Roy was put into Melee to promote his upcoming game. since Smash Bros fighter have movesets based on their game(s) how could Roy be given an original moveset with his game in development? now however Roy's game has since come out(as a Japan only game unfortunately) so Roy could be given an original moveset based not only on his own game but rather on the sword attack animations from all 3 GBA Fire Emblem games.
here's why it's redundant to ask for Roy to return to Smash Bros.
there are already plenty of sword users in Smash Bros, 4 of which are from Fire Emblem. if we are to get more representatives from Fire Emblem in Smash Bros then we should get more variety in terms of fighting styles. i would prefer to see a lance user like Ephraim, an axe user like Hector or better yet a purely magic user like Lewyn(his Forseti Tome would make an amazing final smash) appear in Smash Bros. if we are to get more sword user from Fire Emblem then we should get Sigurd or Eltshan since they are also horse riders.
if we are to get more Fire Emblem characters in Smash Bros it would be great if they were from the Fire Emblem games that were never released outside of Japan in the hope that it might lead Nintendo to remake and finally localize those games(if Nintendo does remake those games they need to make Thracia 776 way easier, i rage quit on chapter 4 the first time i played that game. now that i'm better at Fire Emblem games i'm trying this torture device for a second time to see how far i can go without rage quitting).
Or get Haar as a Dracomaster or as I liked to call him in Radiant Dawn, the super flying death god.
But seriously, a dracomaster, if they could figure out how it could work, would be really cool.
Or the fact he'd be DLC it would be completely up to the player's personal choice whether they want him back in. So really it's all matter of opinion.
If you don't want more or less of the same character we had 4 times already, don't buy him. If you love him, and find him nostalgic and such, or just want the entire roster for the sake of having the entire roster, buy him.
