I don't think I've ever seen tinkle used as a sound effect.
Katie's the cutting edge in onomatopoeia.

That is a rather large censor-bar.

Rune Factory's pretty good on the DS (not sure of 2 or 3), and I've been on Rune Factory Frontier on Wii for the past 3 days. My favs are still Harvest Moon on the SNES and N64. From there, it's the same thing over and over. I don't think I can take another Amnesia excuse in a HM/RF game. :psyduck:

I'd get to the point where I'd buy the green house, then, for a few days, love how much time it "saved", since time doesn't progress while you're indoors, and it becomes easy to do everything you want to do before dusk. However, it turns out it saves TOO MUCH time, with each day now taking nearly twice as long. You spend too much time just waiting around each day, and the rate at which you progress through the calendar slows to a crawl. Additionally, it means you'll be farming through the winter too, since while plants cannot grow outside during the winter, they can in the greenhouse. A month or two with the greenhouse and I just stop playing.

Well, My greenhouse was only used to get the crops the ladies liked (strawberrys, cabbages, flowers, and corn) and cashing in on corn/strawberries high sell prices till I didn't need the cheddar anymore. Turned the whole outdoor field into nothing but grass. I have tried over and over to get every single girl to pnk heart, win all the races, get all the betting prizes, and earn all photos before the end of the game, but I fail every time.

I had forgotten how much I liked Harvest Moon, though I've only every played DS and the Cute version. They were awesome. Might have downloaded an emulator to play it because my game is too far away for me to get.

In AWL you don't actually get a Stamina meter, you just get vague hints as to when he's tired, and you don't notice them until he slows the fuck down for no reason.
He eventually faints and you skip to the next day at 6AM

It's pretty much the worst Harvest Moon.

It doesn't sound like you've actually played AWL. In AWL there is no stamina meter, but you don't faint and skip to the next day. That's just about all the other games.

In a wonderful life, the character first stops and huffs showing that he's gotten tired. Then he collapses on to one knee and stars circle around his head for a few seconds and during that time, the player is unable to do anything.

After that you can work more before the collapsing with the stars, and then the process just repeats again and again until you decide to sleep or you eat some food/drink some milk.

I've played just about all the HM games that have been out and AWL is a decent game, but it is one of the longest games. The time is 1 second = 1 minute in game. 1 day = 24 minutes. 10 days a season and 40 days a year. Chapter 1 = 1 year. Chapter 2 = 2 years. Chapter 3 = 3 years. Chapter 4 = 2 years. Chapter 5 = 2 years. Chapter 6 = 1 year (final chapter).

For people who want to try the game, they should try the girl version or the special edition, as each year is 1 year and thus it is a lot easier to beat the game.

I always liked Harvest Moon. I played the N64 and Magical Melody versions.

Then you got married and somebody got pregnant. Then I felt awkward and stopped playing.
I mean, seriously, you would think that since children are a huge life event, they'd make a bigger deal out of it. It's treated kind of like a side-quest, but it's still part of beating the game. And what the heck happens when you pick the female character? I mean, you still have to do everything that you were doing anyway, it's not like you're carrying a baby around and doing too much work could be dangerous in any way.

Yeah, it's just a game, but really.

Honestly, I'm more interested on how many other games he takes this view on, or how often. 'cause once you get caught up in a moment.. It can be pretty hard to keep the 'it's just a game' mentality..

I used a trick to get the toughest girl the whole game and never have to sleep. The trick was if you saved the game and counted to... 3 I think? then held down the restart button and let go, your character was fully rested and you didn't have to do anything else! Yey! It was awesome.

I found AWL to be a really, really fun game...Although that may be because I never went anywhere without food in my rucksack, and thus stamina was never really an issue. I was crying at the end of it, though...That was mean, Marvelous. Just make most of the farmers immortal then this one dies :/

As to his lack of stamina...Think of it this way. Wasn't Jack (using default name for simplicity's sake) called in from the city when his dad died to take over the farm? He's a cityboy. You mean he has the stamina required for farming by default? :/

I think my favorite part of the game was the fishing, though - how each fish was something different in your rucksack, not just Fish (S), Fish (M) and Fish (L).
