The comic is gold. The Smash comics are always awesome, but I will miss Roy and his pyro nature...he should come back now and again on "vacation." It's just too easy to make jokes at his expense! Of course, we will have new people to make jokes about so it balances out. Katie, do whatever you want.

So yeah, this was a big long post to say no Mewtwo.

Crap, Next to Samus and Zelda, Mewtwo was one of the characters I normally play when I play Smash bros. I bet they axed him for that useless trainer Character.

nah, he was axed in favor of lucario (only basis being their both legendary pokemon with above human intelegence)

fairly sure pichu got axed for pokemon trainer (who isn't that bad once you figure out how to use 2 of the three pokemon right, I'm good with squirtle and charizard, working on ivysaur)

To be fair, depending on which human you are using for comparison, it may not be that difficult to have above human intelligence.

ok, above average human intellegence

I'll miss Roy, but I look forward to seeing Ike and Pit as characters. Pit's a lot of fun to use because of his wings. I hear his SNES platform game is really hard. I love the dojo description of him: "In actuality, though, Pit is an angel who cannot ordinarily fly." That's so sad. XD Pit has such a gung-ho personality, but he's actually somewhat of a failure...

Speaking of failures. Luigi is so adorably dopey in brawl. And his Final Smash is obviously drug paraphernalia. He dances in a rainbow haze, then everyone caught in the drug bubble trips on acid for a while. Too cute.

Looks like Ike's the new pyro in da house. Eruption is pretty similar to Roy's charged b attack. Is anyone else amused that Ike speaks English, but Marth still speaks Japanese? I know Marth and Roy's game is Japanese-only, but you have to admit, these characters are pretty lucky that Brawl is a text-less game. Otherwise:

Ike: Hey pretty lady, I couldn't help but notice that you have blue hair and a sword like I do.

Marth: あの、英語がよくわからないです。。。

Ike: My that's some cute gibberish you're speaking. You wanna go beat on some people with me?

And so on, and so on.

I'd be abosolutely rustled off if they gave Marth and English VA, and never buy another Nintendo game, ever.

Ike had English VAs in his games, so its only common sense he would also speak English in Brawl.

Some days, it feels like that isn't even hard to achieve. Some people...

EDIT: I should specify: Not here. OTHER people.

....Marth wouldn't say "desu". And he certainly wouldn't say something like "I cannot speak English". He would just say "Fuck you".

Lucario's not even legendary. He's just a dumb hard to get fighting type who happened to be one of the first D/P previews and be in a movie. And now Brawl. The pants-wearing dog thing would actually be pretty cool if he weren't a Pokemon. Most of the D/P additions were just eyeblights that give the rest of them a bad name. Mewtwo, on the other hand, was straight up badass in every respect. It's a shame he was replaced by the pants-wearing dog. Maybe in the next Smash Bros.? Yeah...

Nice comic, as usual. I have a feeling Roy will still be frequenting regardless of his lack of inclusion in the game.

No way. He uses such a polite form for "Everyone, look at me!" No character whose taunt is that polite would ever say "Fuck you" in that situation. He may be a brawler, but he's still royalty. The "DESUDESUDESUDESU" stays.

I don't play Melee or Brawl much, but I still loved this comic anyway.

Misc. Fact: I suck with all other characters (and at the game in general), but manage to beat my brother at least once with Mr. Game & Watch. :awesome:

He doesn't say it in a very polite way. That's why it's a taunt. He says it condescendingly.

This is where I get confused. I've had someone tell me that the ~てくれ ending of what Marth is saying is very polite, but I've also read heard that the taunt is mocking. There's also the fact that he uses an impolite or informal form of "everyone." Japanese has so many polite and impolite ways of saying everything! Sarahrose, you wouldn't happen to be Japanese would you? If you are could you please explain to me who made this language so complicated? Was it someone who enjoys tormenting gaijin students? >_<

But the desu still stays. If Marth is the type of prince who talks to foreigners he's never met without at least a proper です, then it's no wonder his booty keeps getting betrayed. I'd like to think he's smart enough to understand that being rude to foreign warriors (who may of may not get the gist of what you're saying) is a good way to start a war. And that's just what he needs...another war...

Yes, he does use a rude way of saying 'everyone', it's rude because he doesn't know them personally. 「みんな」is the ruder version of 「みんなさん」. Notice how the more polite version ends in "san".

And there's a lack of です。Which makes it kinda rude as he doesn't really know everyone.

And that's all it is to it! I'm not sure about verb endings as the only real verbs I know are 食べます、飲みます and できます. Yeahhhhhh I'm mainly self taught (learning Japanese at school sucks they don't teach you much) so I'm probably wrong about everything.

Polite and impolite terms are actually easy to learn. Basically, you get the basic words like ごめん and ありがとう and they're the least polite. You then just add the extra stuff to make them more polite, like ありがとう ございます is more polite and ありがとう ございました is even more polite.
...But I'm pretty sure you already know that. And I think Japanese is easier to learn than say English.

And no, I'm 100% Aussie. I'm just a weaboo.

See? /v/ can have a stroke of genius once in a while. Mostly just plain strokes.
