You only need a thunderstone to evolve Pikachu into Raichu, not Pichu into Pikachu.

HOWEVER, if the pikachu in brawl is the same pichu in melee....

How'd it level up it's friendship level? I mean, it's not that it can't level up over 9000 friendly-dandy points in 5-6 years, but IT HAS NO TRAINER. :psyduck:

Zelda and Peach probably pampered Pichu until it was sufficiently pop flyin'. Also (as much as it sucked) it could have kicked some booty in melee and then voila! Evolution!

He became the Pikachu in Cockfighting Society Dash. He can run at 100 MPH while still being slower than a pregnant cow.
