You can look like your own team members. you have to hit - to do it, it can mess with peoples minds, than they shoot you, has little use, but does work sometimes.

actually if you're playing on a map where you're blu and the enemy team runs up to spawn before setup ends you can do that to disguise as another class, to throw them off the trail for a while.

it took me a few looks to get this comic but once it did I laughed for a good bit.

i can see how someone would read this wrong. took a couple of takes myself...that jumping panel is 'shot' really oddly. it reads as the soldier chucking his launcher to have a go at these two hand to hand somehow. he's moving towards the camera, so we read it as him moving towards the reds...

still good, still funny, and lines up well with the mountains of dead soldiers in the meet the medic video.

Ooh, TF2!

You should add to me to friends, I'd play with you.

I personally play spy quite a bit, stab lots of people in the back. I've dominated my friends by stabbing them in the back.

I no longer have any friends.

PS: IMHO, disguising as teammates is more useful than people make it out to be here.
(Although, also IMHO, the situation in the comic would never happen
Case 1: Good soldier, desperately rocket jump away, living to die another day.
Case 2: Bad soldier, Herp derp, shoot heavy. Ignore medic. Die. That didn't rhyme at all.)

PPS: If I'm making fun of someone and offending without knowing it, GOOD. SHOOT THE MEDIC DAMMIT. THERE'S A REASON THE HEAVY IS LAUGHING.
It's like Mario vs Bowser, where Mario is the Heavy, Bowser is the soldier, and the 50 bajillion 1up mushrooms in Mario's pockets are the medic.

PPPS: I made a pun. "Pocket Medic."

PPPPS: I may have issues. But it's okay, we can still be friends.

I like the comic. I too run from a medic+heavy combo unless I'm pyro.

Here's something that makes no sense unless you've seen Meet the Medic:

the joke sucks either way

But really, go watch that video. Even if you haven't played TF2. It makes Katie's comic make a tad more sense too.

Also, FTP TF2 is cool. I had already considered downloadng it even though I had the 360 version. Now I ave the PC version and the world is at peace.
Or something.

nice job on the comic too katie

for those of you who don't play tf2 the heavy medic combo is very effective for stopping soldiers, unless the soldier happens to get two crits in a row...

The Spies sure fooled me, I had to read the comments to fully understand what was going on. The Soldier ran away, Heavy/Medic shrugged, and... then there were Spies. It might have helped if the spies were shown holding their disguise masks in the last panel, instead of just some smoke puff to indicate deactivating the disguise.

I got the comic with my superficial understanding of how TF2 works (having never actually played TF2), but if I understood the in-depth 'laws' relating to how Spies work I might not have got it.

Fun fact: If you are disguised as a friendly Heavy a Sniper can not headshot you since Heavy is a lot taller than spy.
He can headshot you if he is a body shot sniper though.

It's all about hitboxes.
For instance, whenever you disguise as any class, you still maintain a Spy's hitboxes. If you think that Heavy in the distance is actually a spy, aim a bit over his right shoulder.

Good comic, it should definitely be easy to understand for anyone who's played TF2.

Spies could actually do this and scare away a lone soldier actually. He'll never suicide of course, but that's for comic effect.

I feel the joke would have been more clear if, inbetween the "Heavy/Medic" and "Spy/Spy" panels, there's a big cloud of smoke panel.

I got it though.

I think a frame of the soldier running away with a silly scared expression would have made the joke clearer
