Good stuff indeed. When the first joke was about invading through a cut forest, it was obvious that the second joke would be about the gates. Still, it didn't affect the magnitude of awesome.

On another note: I DO THIS.
I usually play as gray mongols, and this is one of my favorite tactics. I bodaciously line up Elite Mangudai and Cavaliers/Paladins at an enemy gate, just far off enough so that they don't take notice, in No Attack Stance. Then I wait for a wayward miner to go off looking for gold/stone. Gate open, and then it's "Woot! First in!", "Don't mind us, we're just invading Kthxbye", "Nice town you've got here", "Hey, I'm gonna pillage their Market if it's okay with you guys", "RIDE ON! WHOOOO!", "U Mad, Blue Bros?"

I used to build double gates just in case, and walls too to be honest. Even if you managed to keep your own villagers from opening the gates, there was still the possibility that your allies' troops would fuck it up for you. : D Though at some point you could lock the gates, or was that from the very start? Fun game nonetheless, warm fuzzy nostalagiatrip FTW!!!
