I didn't laugh again.

I guess maybe it was too obvious, or poorly delivered (the build up to the punchline was a little wanting).

The final image didn't seem to convey a powerful sense of terror, panic or dread. It could've been a lot more dynamic.

Maybe if you'd given the Pikmin faces - so they had the ability to express their inability to deal with the situation it might've had more power and impact as a punchline.

DND has good ideas. Also, maybe the text boxes of Olimar's log could have helped. For instance, in the second to last panel, "During our time together, I believe BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH," and at the top of the last panel, "They no longer need me to help them."

and then in the next panel, it's like PUNCH-IN-FACE-YOU'RE-WRONG

I dunno.

I think that they come with you in the onions at the end of Pikimin if you get all the parts to the ship within 30 days. If not then that sad little ending happens.

No, them fighting the enemies is the 30 parts ending, the standard "You found the required parts" ending is the one where he just goes off hapily, and the bad ending is his life-support system failing, where he's taken to an Onion and turned into a pikmin.
