Three, isn't Young Link the Link that has been hanging around since ever though ? He was disguised as Twilight Princess Link but was still Ocarina of Time Link. He simply had to put the Master Sword back in the Temple of Time to be a kid again.
"Disguised"? Ocarina of Time Link and Twilight Princess Link are actually different people. Ocarina of Time Link and Majora's Mask Link are the same, but Ocarina of Time Link didn't exist in either Brawl or Smash 4, and is finally back in his younger form (who is also Majora's Mask Link) in this game.
Notably, Adult Link from OoT cannot also be Majora's Mask Link because Link had already re-sealed the master sword before experiencing Majora's Mask.
This wasn't about the games' lore, but Awkward Zombie's lore.
Back in Brawl times, Katie drew
a comic of TP Link coming to take OoT Adult Link's spot in the roster, only for OoT Adult Link to beat him up and steal his clothes. So, in AZ Smash Lore, TP Link got his booty kicked and never joined the roster, while OoT Adult Link had to learn to love chainmail.
That being said, since OoT Adult Link and OoT Young Link were both playable in Melee, one could argue they
were two separate Links. I suppose Melee's Young Link left the building back when Brawl came out, and that for Ultimate, the original Melee Adult Link (aka Impostor TP Link) was replaced by Actual BotW Link (hence his "what hat?" antics in the previous comic). Then, who
is Ultimate Young Link?… Is he Melee's Young Link that left when Brawl came out? Or is he Melee's Adult Link who returned the Master Sword to become young again?
Well, I believe he is Melee's Young Link. The reason is simple: as you pointed out, being from a different timeline, OoT Adult Link does not know about Majora's Mask. If Ultimate's Young Link was Melee's Adult Link who returned the Master Sword, he
would not recognize BotW Link's mask. Since Ultimate's Young Link flips out when BotW Link dons the mask, it's natural to assume he is the genuine Young Link, aka Melee's Young Link, and not Melee's Adult Link Who Returned The Master Sword To Become A Kid Again.
…There always was another thing on my mind, though: Katie draws OoT Adult Link and TP Link's hair differently. In every Brawl comic after OoT Adult Link beats up TP Link, though, the Link we see has TP Link's hair. Does that mean TP Link eventually took the spot that was rightfully his? Or did he go back to his farmer life, while OoT Adult Link fixed his hair to look like the hair of the person he's impersonating?
A mystery for the ages.

He
is on the chart.

I can't help but wonder where Dedede falls on this chart though. He is only a self-proclaimed king, though nobody in Dream Land really argues against him having that title.
