I remember Katie mentioning in a tweet that they're engaged, but that's as far as I know.

Also, now I wonder how many of her coworkers, underlings, and superiors are actually readers of the comic.

You'll never find them all, they're far too numerous. Some were spur of the moment inside jokes that stuck around, others have long since been forgotten and fallen out of use, in any case they're constantly shifting.

Anyone remember Cockfighting Society?

They got engaged last April but they don't have clear plans for a wedding yet, it seems.

No, you know what? I'm not doing this. "Hourly Comic Day" is self-explanatory.

No it isn't, it's a bunch of random doodles that have nothing to do with videogames. I would like it if someone explained what this is about, please.

Basically, once in a while, webcomic artists have a "hourly comic day" where they draw a comic every hour. Kind of like a challenge, I guess? It can be a couple of panels like Katie about how her day is going, or short little stories, or just random comics.

Thank you :D keep in mind I read many webcomics, and this is the only one that actually does this.

(The closest thing I can think of is "Draw my life" that many YouTube celebrities like to do)

Not everyone does it yeah, especially more serious webcomics, that and not everyone has the time to do it either. It's popular but it's not THAT big an event.

Her art got better over the years too.

And her self protrait looks completley manly by now :psyduck:

Two things:
1) Very few things, and I'd go as far to say "nothing" is random. It is maybe non-sequitur as you were expecting video games and got something else. But if you actually paid attention to what was happening in those "random" doodles, you'd be able to, or rather should be able to, piece together the context.
2) Hourly - By the hour. Comic - The thing you're reading. Day - Implies an event. While the "why" wasn't self-explanatory (obscure event cartoonists happen to do maybe), the "what" clearly was. (The thing Katie did.) Even the very little Locke -did- mention should have tipped you off. It was information. Information that you could have used. Even though he implied he wasn't giving information, he was clearly lying.

That was technically three things, I'm just too stressed today to count right. I apologize for being rude.

And I think the point, or rather one of the points, of the event is to get people to draw without worrying too much about quality. Because improving requires doing. And quality assurance usually takes longer than an hour. As for why you wouldn't have seen it, I imagine cartoonists don't post them on their main site like Katie does. They might be on their tumblrs or twitters. If they exist at all.

People seem to forget to connect that engineers are nerds and nerds are children.

I don't know what the hell is up with you guys but they just asked a question, you don't need to lay a post about a+b*x means they shoulda understood or whatever. They're surprised about seeing something they're not used to so of course they call it random it has almost nothing to do with the usual AZ comics. Like c'mon stop acting all high and mighty "ooh maybe if you THOUGHT about it you'd have understood" it makes you sound like a bunch of douches. So quit it. Talk about the comic instead why don't you.

Am I the only one who wishes that their cat(s) rode around on their shoulder?

I used to have a fox that did that. It was pretty boss, would recommend.
You have to get them used to doing it when they're very young.

I may have a vague recollection.

Ok y'all. I'm gonna be the big boy and say that the Hourly Comic Day is where people draw comics every hour.
