I'm not sure where revives fall on the natural vs. technological scale. On the one hand, you can buy revives in a bunch of stores and get as many as your heart desires. On the other, Max Revives are pretty rare and almost always found in the wild or are given to you in limited amounts.

Also both of them are buried in the underground and in rocks, and you don't find any man-made items in the underground and the only "man-made" item you find in rock smash is Ether and Max Ether...

Wait, what are Ether and Max Ether considered themselves? I mean it's a drink in PMD but is that naturally occurring since they're all over the dungeons and easy to get? For that matter, why would revives be replaced with reviver seeds in PMD if they weren't natural magic candy that just appeared.

How far does this conspiracy go?

In Pokemon Special, Revives are seeds:

And the Max Revive got put at the chest of the pokemon and probably got either absorbed or transfered energy:
http://www.mangahere.co/manga/pokemon_adventures/v43/c494/8.html
then again, Pokemon Special partially works to its own mechanics, so this is not cannon.
The anime never used them.
And the max revives resemble Japanese sweets, so they would be quite small to swallow:

Consider this:
Cockfighting Society are digital entities.
When you catch them, your I.D. gets printed into their memory and they listen to you. And you store them in an energy form or in the PC. They only have enough storage capacity to know 4 move at a time... Which you can teach them by uploading the information directly into them from CDs. Some moves are specially protected and can only be overwritten by hackers. And when you collect badges, Cockfighting Society who have a different I.D. associated with them than yours will start to behave. This might not have worked for Ash's Charizard because Ash didn't really earn his badge, he was never officially traded Charmander, he wore his badges on his person instead of carrying them in a special case, and he is also a huge doofus. Meowth overwrote so much of his memory learning language that it became impossible to learn moves when he reached an appropriate level. Also levels are a thing. Living beings don't typically have numbers directly tied to their growth.

I thought levels were more of a abstract concept towards growth as a whole, like comparing it to a Pokemon's age or muscle mass or something. I know the anime mentioned levels a few times but that was only in the really early episodes before they got their footings.

Huh. I usually just went with the "Cockfighting Society are beings of pure energy" theory, assumed levels measure growth (in more ways than just strength), and figured the TMs were put on a CD player that instructed your Cockfighting Society to use a move.
To each their own I guess...

But we can all agree that Ash IS a huge doofus, right?

He is undeniably an idiot. Level 100 Pikachu do not lose to level 5 Smugleaf just because it can't use electric attacks. And who uses electric moves on ground types? Who brings only 1 'mon to a gym fight? Who can't win any leagues despite trying for almost 20 years?
Ash is an insult to all Trainers. Poor Satoshi Tajiri, having such a moron represent his beloved franchise.

Ash was extra stupid in Best Wishes. I blame poor writing of uninteresting characters. It was the final nail in the coffin that made me lose interest in the anime entirely.

And I don't care how smooth the ground is. A thing can still roll on it. points if anyone remembers that.

I've started to assume revives and max revives are administered like shots, you just aim one of the pointy ends somewhere and jab it in.

Although, I mean, Mario and Luigi force-feed each other mushrooms when they die in the Mario & Luigi games.

And force-feeding something that's fainted makes more sense than feeding a berry to, say, a Magnemite. Or Unown. Or Solrock or Bronzor or Lampent.

Man, you've been here since '11?
On a side note, KT would be pleased to here that currently NO bugs live on my side of the mountain thanks to the El Niño weather pattern.

I like to imagine that Lampent has a removable top for these sorts of things, and you just drop the berry into the flame. Problem solved...?

Are the pictures that were 'shopped into the picture compressed to such levels on purpose as part of the joke?
Because it's a good joke.
