I am getting so sick of Metal Gear comics... it wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that I can't even look at Metal Gear after what Konami did to Hideo Kojima.

Is jam particularly known for not holding up? Aren't they known as preserves or whatever? Would there be a vast difference between yesterday's, today's, and tomorrow's jam? Isn't jam considered appealing? This idiom is filling me with a ton of questions.

I mean, I guess it's petah to eat jam fast so it doesn't spoil. Spoiling someone's jam is not to be done lightly.
