A leech's soliva has antibiotics that kill bacteria, and they can filter toxins out of the blood stream. The age old belief of removing "bad blood" using leeches may have been a bad case of medical misinformation, but the reality of potential health benefits in specific scenarios see leeches used today in modern medical environments.

What I'm trying to say is someone needs to toss some leeches on those bandages for me.

No, they were right. A lot of diseases can be cured by removing "Bad Blood". Most people hate that song so much they get cancer.
