Not an option in AWL.

WHY DOES THE GOAT ONLY GIVE MILK FOR ONE YEAR IF YOU CAN'T BREED OR SELL IT

Because, y'know... milk is... kind of... made to feed baby mammals. Like... goat babies.

Or cow babies.

actually cows in real life keep making milk once they're pregnant once until they're old and gross but the problem here as far as i can tell
is that the designers had the milking system rely on giving birth to make milk which sure whatever s'logical
and then provided an animal that you can only get one of

My biggest problem with Harvest Moon AWL is how it adds an extra year to every chapter after the first one in wich it just gets monotone and boring.
The second is that there is too little to do beside working on the farm after the first chapter.
The few festivals there is are just cutscenes wich takes some hours of your working day.
Beside that i like the game.
Taking care of the animals and getting good milk/cheese/butter is easier than the gardening part.
In the end before i got too bored to finish the game i didn't know what to do with all the cheddar i had.

The only thing that kept me going in A Wonderful Life is that I wanted that.... goat.... to.... die....

I didn't feed it for an entire year, that's how long it took to die! :shakefist:

And don't get me started on the grape trees, "mother's milk", the small barn you can't fit anything in, the bulls that can only have sex once or twice before they're infertile, the useless milk parlor.... argh!

And every stupid thing annoys 10x as much since I live on a farm. Heck with that game, I'm going back to Harvest Moon 64, a game I actually care about!

Just... not... A Wonderful Life... it's gameplay seriously broken, plus half the game's dialogue has spelling mistakes.

And if you "milk" a bull, the bull has a heart emoticon... yep.

YES! this particular harvest moon game stands out from all the rest for trying to be more realistic and therefore frustrating... i never made it far past my first year no matter how many times i picked the game up lol. however every other harvest moon game is much more accessible and fun to play, especially because they don't make you get your cows pregnant in order to make milk or waste your time by making every game hour take up a minute of your time which leads to you spending about 16 minutes every day, or goats becoming dead weight after a year, or the lack of farm expansion options... really the list of things WRONG with awl goes on but every other harvest moon game I've played is actually fun.

I am going to be totally honest... I never had any problems with this game.

*Shields Up*

And what's all this nonsense about bulls going infertile? I had one bull for my entire run through and after a while he would knock the heffers up on his own.

*Shields at 90%*

Seriously, it never struck me as a bad Harvest Moon game (that title goes to DS and it's ridiculous "brush animals 5000 times" goal system, ugh), just different. I enjoyed it quite a bit myself. Also, after chapter 4, the years start to get shorter again.

Oh well. Try giving "A New Beginning" a spin, Katie. Let's see how that one destroys ya.

LOL, nothing "bad" about it, but the whole game is about resource management and hoarding (even WEEDS are important) since you have the build the town from the ground up and get people to move in, and we know Katie is a habitual hoarder, so the potential for hilarity is quite high.

After the first month of hoarding or so the game starts to get really good, it's probably my favorite Harvest Moon since Friends of Mineral Town.
