Ugh, those commercials suck.

But what are you going to do now that Microsoft has started their own "I'm a PC" campaign?

EDIT: And lol at Linux sitting over in the corner smugly with it's absurdly efficient resource usage, greatest stability, and greatest security. :? Oh well, at least it's godly for businesses that primarily need to make use of custom applications.

Ubuntu is a pretty cool guy. eh's as efficient as any $200 OS and doesn't afraid of anything.
MS's new campaign isn't bad. It's a rebuttal as pleasant as any to Mac's annoying commercials.

Karilyn is right, each OS has significant strengths and weaknesses. Neither OS is generally better than another (although that doesn't count for specific matters). Its nice to know that at least someone realises that!

Wait...

Smart, Karilyn. Real smooth.

Definitely. Though GNOME ain't my thing, not sure why it's the most popular desktop. Yay for KDE 4. Modular GUIs, how I love thee.

Eh, I find it on a similar level of annoyance, and only made worse because it is essentially like Microsoft was like... "Well we can't think up our own campaign, let's copy theirs and say NO U!"

It's made even more hilarious as we now know that Microsoft personally (but not publicly of course) acknowledges that MacOS is superior for video and photo manipulation, and created the entire campaign on Mac computers.

Seriously. Vista is pretty much a straight downgrade from XP. I'll uphold the merits of XP, but I cannot think of anything Vista does that XP doesn't do better.

I pray Windows 7 has Microsoft fully analyzing why Vista was worse than XP.

Windows Vista reminds me of Windows NT 3.x and ME. All three are Windows versions that were strictly inferior to their predecessors.

Honestly though? I think that was the point. Historically, Microsoft hasn't exactly been known for promoting fair business practices. Force users to get Vista when they buy a new computer, users hate it, Microsoft releases Windows 7, everyone runs screaming to get it in order to get Vista off their computers. It would be pretty in line with how Microsoft works their monopoly :?

Increased security protection, greatly increased search engine (I don't even use the start menu anymore), less prone to system failures, greatly improved interface (graphically and functionally), and a lot of background improvements too. And it does run at about the same speed as XP.
In fact, I can't think of any way that XP was better, really. Except that Vista doesn't run properly on slow, outdated PCs.

In any case, it still proves my point that you're being very hypocritical here.

If its so daisies important, you can just dual boot. Extra RAM isn't expensive, and you still get the functionality.

Not to mention I've made heavy use of MacOSX, Red Hat, Fedora, Windows XP, and Windows Vista for my work.

:( I hate working on Vista.

Heh, why? The only detriment I've ever IN REALITY had with Vista is the fact that your files are shifted around in a new design, which I got over pretty quickly. In my Web Design and PC support class, I've worked with the Mac in there and my Vista PC. The Vista is faster, and runs smoother. The Mac, while being helpful for it's imaging for Web Design, I've yet to see the greater quality of a Mac.

Also, the Microsoft Campaign is just saying that for *insert customer computer needs* you can usually get a cheaper, faster one. And of course they would say the Mac is better for video and picture, that's what it's mostly designed for.

XP is nice. Vista is better. Especially when you get used to it.

I find the new PC commercials to be annoying, but not smarmy like the mac ones.

Are the new PC commercials those ones with the kids who are like "I'm a PC" and then they do stuff on the computer and then say their age?
