You don't have to be directly affected by something to want it gone. I shouldn't have to explain myself on that point.
It is out of control in that too many people are unhealthily addicted to its virtual reality, and too many are wasting their time while they could be doing far more productive things. It's the same with all video games, just more evident and widespread in WoW's case.
Read: I'm not just bashing WoW - I have a case against all those inane MMORPG's that destroy people's real lives. WoW is just one of the worst cases, which is why so many pick on it over others.
I don't know why you're so fervently damning any criticism of WoW - maybe you play it yourself or just hate that there's some kind of hating-WoW "trend."
Regardless: any reason of your own why WoW is worthwhile, a benefit to society, a positive influence on its addicts' lives?
You can't claim it's a waste of time, that's not something you can prove or disprove. I could make the claim that this forum is unhealthy and addictive, destroying people's real lives.
What is a real life, anyway? And why is it more important than a non-real life? And why does it have to be a benefit to society? It has a positive influence on the supposed "addicts'" lives in that it's entertaining.
Dammit.
Okay. Spoony, you didn't make a point there. Entertainment isn't gotten for free. For some, that's moot. For most, it's the truth. Most deny themself the pleasure of other things for one. For WoW addicts, they have the entertainment to themselves. But they deny themself pleasure in what they always have to return to at some point: real life.
By having a variety of what you take pleasure in, you lead a good life. By having pleasure in only one thing, is when you aren't.
People work to pay the bills, pay for needs, pay for wants, wants are WoW, WoW is fun, but before WoW isn't fun.
