To open up an old Zelda Timeline Forum can of worms: When Zelda turns into Sheik, is it merely a disguise, or does she magically turn male?

what do you mean "turn male". if you mean "does she grow a dick" that doesn't make someone male

sheik is a disguise and whatever magic Zelda uses to achieve that disguise doesn't "make her male"

sheik looks androgynous and that's probably on purpose from Zelda

Weird thing. When I was a kid playing OoT for the first time, I just assumed Shiek was supposed to be a woman, probably because the only other Sheikah reference point was Impa. Nothing about her really stood out to me as particularly male.

I appreciate Samus being the straight man. She does a good job of it.

If drawing her suit is annoying, then would having her take it off help?

Why does everyone just instantly assume Sheik is male? There were absolutely no signifiers of gender of any kind, unless I missed a scene where Sheik had a blocky, poorly rendered N64 pair of testicles on prominent display. Even if you don't know Sheik is Zelda, there is no reason to think Sheik is a dude beyond not wearing a dress and being kidnapped.

You may as well stubbornly insist that Tetra is male.

I don't care what chromosomes or genitals Sheik has but their character was clearly intended as male-presenting in OoT, which made the reveal at the end less predictable and works with the narrative
some people say it's too far-fetched for Zelda to have magically changed her sex but
- it's a Japanese series
- she changes her eye color, skin color, haircut and whole clothing magically in an instant
- Link turned into a rabbit in a prior game and into a wolf in a later game, that's a much more major transformation
