I can laugh at this with any game with "mount summoning."

Legend of Zelda, and WoW are also guilty of this.

I never got to play Shadow of te Collosus. I was waiting for it to be 20$, but my bro broke my PS2. MY nigh infinite rage has barely wavered since.

Yeah if you weren't worried about being "topical" why didn't you do the same idea but for Epona and Link?

Or have you and he had a falling out recently?

I kind of have ethical problems with Shadow of the Colossus - or any game that asks me to kill 10+ unique creatures on the promise of resurrecting some bimbo.
I just can't support the genocide of 10+ species - and I would've seen through that "sorcerer's" lies from the start anyways. From what I've gathered the "sorcerer" promises to revive your dead bimbo if you kill 10+ monsters that are "terrorising the land" but actually the creatures are the things keeping the "sorcerer" trapped - 'cos he's actually the bad guy you see - so you just committed 10+ counts of genocide - killing ten good creatures for a "sorcerer" who was never gonna revive your bimbo anyways.
So leave the animals alone - 'kay?

And now, a brilliant idea has been born. RPGs need a summon tasty snack spell.

Obligatory "play the game first (or at least know it correctly)" defense.

Response to the comic:
I didn't expect a Shadow of the Colossus comic!

SotC is a little more realistic than Zelda when it comes to calling for your faithful steed, but steering Agro can be a pain. I think I only got used to it because I liked to explore the place and run around pointlessly. And even then, colossus #10 was a nightmare.

Riding around on Agro and jumping off ledges is strangely amusing though.
What are you talking about? At the end, she was ressurected.
Also, <3 SotC.

But you know what this comic needs?

More bloom.

I recently started replaying SotC and I think you have to play the game to appreciate this comic. Agro takes 90 degree turns to avoid a pebble in the road and runs straight into a tree. Anytime you hit something he rears up and just sits there for a few seconds. If you're within 10 feet of a cliff he slows to a crawl. Epona is a breeze to control compared to him.

As for your ethical problems with the game, I think you missed the whole point. The ethical problems are the main part of the games story line. You're supposed to have them. It sounds like you had the ending of the game spoiled for you and decided never to play it.

Good one. Nice comic. Still the same in every game. So true.

Last panel - Agro looks like a donkey/mule.

I loved it. The dumb look on the horse in the last panel is what made it for me. Because that pretty much is the look they have...
