Keegster, do you want to know what I know about this game?
- There is at least one stealth segment
- The guy has the Asshole Shades
- A helicopter happens at some point
I still got this comic.
In the interest of ruining comedy and any sort of joke that this may had, i will explain it to you in intricate detail, keep in mind that I only knew what is listed up there until this comic taught it to me.
Panel one: The guy from Deus Ex (i'll call him TGFDE for short) is entering some kind of living quarters, presumably an apartment or hotel of some sort. He is speaking with an as of yet unknown person on a headset communicator, and telling them that he is in China. They have replied with a positive remark, indicating that this was supposed to happen, and that they are glad it has.
Panel 2- TGFDE is still talking with Mystery Communicator Person, presumably this Francis Pritchard that is floating in the air. Francis is saying that TGFDE is supposed to be searching out a specific apartment, located in the Hengsha Court Gardens. This is most likely just inconsequential nonsense, but it serves the purpose of telling you that TGFDE has to do yet more traveling to get to his ultimate destination, a purpose cemented by Francis telling him to get to that apartment as soon as he can get to that apartment.
Panel III) As indicated in the top left hand corner, we are scanning our surroundings, most likely through the eyes and shades of TGFDE. Things that are important are highlighted with a golden outline and labelled with a list of interactions beneath them. These objects are:
- A door, which he can open.
- A small box sitting on top of a larger box, which he can lift.
- A larger box underneath a smaller box, which he can lift.
- A drawer that he can open.
- A terminal that he can hack. It's not said what a "terminal" is, but that isn't important to the comic. A Terminal is most likely a wall-mounted device used for a variety of purposes such as communicating or temperature control of the room.
- A sliding glass door, which he can close.
TGFDE also sees a bed with red sheets that have a similar golden outline to the interact-able objects, however, as there is no label or list of interactions, we can safely presume that this bed cannot be interacted with.
Panel Quatro* TGFDE is saying "wait" This panel's purpose is to tell you that he has noticed the bed, as it has prominence within the dark outline of the panel.
Panel Five: TGFDE is telling Francis that he thinks the bed has some prominence. We can deduce that this is because of the golden outlining on the sheets, which is reminiscent of the golden outline on the objects that TGFDE is capable of interacting with, however, as the outline was actually a physical part of the bed, and not part of the overlay on his shades, it has no importance. This is why, in the next speech bubble, Francis is confused as to why TGFDE thinks that the bed is an important object. TGFDE also does not know why it's important, emphasized by his hesitance to answer the question, and the split in his speech bubble meant to create a mental pause, as if he were actually speaking.
And finally Dawn of the Last Panel: Zero panels remain: TGFDE has jumped onto the bed, and clutched the sheets tightly in his hands. Francis has revealed to us that TGFDE's real name is Jensen. Jensen, as Francis has said, is interrogating a bedspread. Jensen has decided to interrogate this bedspread because it has a golden outline, much like the similar golden outline on objects of importance. This is the joke of the comic, being that Jensen is incapable of telling the difference between the golden overlay on important things, and the golden outline on this fanciful bedspread. Jensen is also whispering "
tell me your secrets," The whispering being indicated here by the small text in the large bubble. Jensen, as we can figure out using the power of our fully functional human minds, has gone slightly crazy over the fact that this bedspread has a golden outline like the objects of importance.
And that, dear Keegster, is the joke of this comic. If you still don't get it then may G
od have mercy on your soul.
