Also, why exactly was Link punching his shadow and not using the three foot sharp thing strapped to his back?

I've seen him black, tan, asian, and caucasian. People like to go crazy with their artistic liberties when it's just a black mass with red eyes.

Because Shadow link would use his three foot sharp thing and thus parry or overpower Link.

He'd jump on Link's sword when he thrusts, then kick him in the face.

You know what's really weird? I was playing my N64 after reading this comic and then I almost died from laughing when I started to fight Dark Link in the water temple. Oh if only that could happen in the game. >_<
