I suppose that I'm going to be "that guy" here, and point out that concern/anxiety would show up under the Sadness/Fear emotion.

I've played the first three AA games, but none of the recent ones (I want to, though). So I don't get how this Mood Matrix works. Someone want to explain how it does so I can get the joke?

Simple version; Athena (the lawyer girl) is very good at hearing someone's emotions in their voice, she uses the Mood Matrix (a little computer) to help categorize those emotions, and in some parts of the game, you have to check the Mood Matrix to analyse the emotions of someone's testimony.

For example, if someone describes a terrifying event, but the Mood Matrix registers happiness, you know that what you're being told isn't the truth.

I hate to explain a joke, but it's just that the Mood Matrix only has the four emotions Athena mentions in the comic.

And the Mood Matrix explodes when there's a contradiction? Or is that the emotional overload the wikia describes?

it's a joke on that the person in the comic describes an emotion that doesn't really fit any of the four emotions in the thing, and the mood matrix comically explodes
