Do you actually make white dye out of spoiled milk? Eww.
Not, like.... salt or something? Bleach is made from chlorine, which comes from salt. That's how you actually turn clothes white in real life. I know Breath of the Wild has fucking salt in it somewhere, right?
Actually milk is perfect for making white paint, as the proteins that give the white color are relatively stable if they're bashed into small bits. It's especially good for airbrushing (which pulverizes the proteins), and can be used for food safe white paint, so long as it doesn't spoil. If you treat it correctly, it won't smell either. Generally there are better options out there, but milk was a widely used paint medium or way to get lighter colors and softer pigments.
Also, urine used to (and in some trades still is) used to get dyes to stick to clothing better, as urea and salt agitate the cloth and allows for the dye to adhere better. It was also used for treating leather and even for soaking metal in to make it workable (until they discovered beer and then later water worked just as well).
Basically this stuff was
liquid gold to some people.
