I'm just waiting for a Nowi edit, in which she asks either Snake or Ocelot if they want to start a relationship, until she notices the costumes and turns them down because she's not into "that certain fandom which the auto-correct changes for me". It's pretty freaking sad when Nowi feels she has too high standards to date someone.

Especially noting that her other form is a talking dragon in which those tend to fall under said fandom regardless.

But seriously, I've noticed people doing this elsewhere. Assert that because something else that's similar exists, and that something else did it better (the most recent claim I can think of that's not this one was objectively false) That this other thing should not exist, even when the thing they've used as a reference wasn't even the first.

It is always a bad argument, and it's only potential use is to point out whose team you're on. Which is especially bad when those things aren't even competing. It's especially, especially bad when suggesting someone should not to even attempt to dethrone the current big dog. It actively prevents people, as a whole, from bettering themselves.
