Not counting Gyarados and the occasional event download, the only shiny I have is a shiny Gloom that I found in the friend safari (not sure whether to evolve it into a Vileplume or Bellossom). It's also the only shiney I've ever even encountered in my years of playing pokemon.

I see. Okay den. I now need to actually get Pokemon Ruby (my username namesake) and a copy of either D/P/Pl. Or I can just borrow my aunts' 4th gen games and original DS.
Also, I am Masuda Methoding for a shiny Zorua, and frankly, seeing a non-shiny Zorua hatch makes me sad. ;-;
I managed to use the Masuda Method to hatch a shiny Ralts for a friend. Only took me like 22 eggs. My friend wasn't as lucky, as it took him boxes and no luck. Usually I just skip the shiny nonsense and breed for IVs, which is so much easier in Gen VI.
Ah. IVs have never really been a big deal for me, even though I do dabble in competitive battling from time to time. Never actually in competitions, though. I have heard that the Super Training app has helped IV breeders and/or trainers out a lot, though. It certainly helped me when I was trying to get my Hydriegon's speed up.
Super Training is for EVs. IVs can only be bred for, though the destiny knot's new ability has made that
much easier than in past gens (so long as you ignore the all the inbreeding you'll be forcing the pokemon to go through in your quest for genetic perfection).
