Because I've never DMed before and figured you guys would make excellent first players, and everyone has D&D fever (DC 15 fort save).
General stuff
3.5 w/ house rules that make things go faster (since online D&D is notorious for it's length)
All your rolls will either be done by me or left to the honor system. Things I will roll for you include spot checks and the like because if I say "you failed a spot check" you aren't supposed to know you missed something. Honor system means I trust you won't cheat, but even if you do, I'll probably consider your victory to be the encounters' fault for not being difficult enough. When that happens, expect gelatinous cubes from the ceiling and the like.
Large creatures now fit in a single square, huge take up 2x2, gargantuan 3x3, and colossal 4x4.
Encumbrance and a need for food (and water if the area is dry enough) will be enforced. Sleep can be avoided, but you'll probably want to anyway, either for HP or spells.
There are diseases, curses, cursed items, etc.
No such thing as always chaotic evil.
You'll gain levels when I feel you've earned them. Spells that sap XP will likely kill or maim you.
Running is always an option you should consider.

Character creation
level 3
28 point buy for attributes. If you've never done point buy, you spend points to buy your stats. The amount/costs are 8/0, 9/1, 10/2, 11/3, 12/4, 13/5, 14/6, 15/8, 16/10, 17/13, 18/16.
Races: Nothing fancy/anything that needs me to look it up. Also no level adjustment. Or gray elves.
Classes: PHB classes except druid, and if you have the books/info, you can take duskblade, favored soul, archivist. No alignment restrictions on class, so Barbarian/Monks are ok. Fighters have d12 hd, and other classes have some slight changes. Multiclass at will but don’t blame me when you wind up with incompatible abilities. Prestige classes from DMG or whatever I offer.
Skills: as normal.
Feats: If I have to look up an obscure book/ruling you can't have it, otherwise normal.
Items: 1000 gold plus a +1 magic item of your choice. Don’t forget to stock up on food.
Spells: If I have to look something up, or if it’s from an obscure book, or too powerful then no you can’t have it. Also, create food is gone and create water takes moisture from the air, so if it’s dry you’re boned, and if it’s humid it gets noticeably dryer. Some places outlaw it. No teleportation. If you want a custom spell discuss it with me.
Alignment: Don’t bother writing it down anywhere, I’ll determine your alignment based on your actions. Also I won’t tell you it without casting something.

I’ll be taking 4-6 players. If you want to discuss something about making your character before joining, you can still reserve a spot. Plot and campaign setting to be determined. Any other questions or something I missed just ask.
Current characters:
Cade
Krom
Theron Deceased, at least in our hearts. Actual whereabouts: Unknown.
Semli
Ayalea
Blanche
Shinsa
Map: coming soon!
Site with a lot of what you need to know.

I'm in, and I'll probs be running a fighter.

Also, are you going to be putting much emphasis on roleplaying? Or is it just gonna be roll the dice and state your action?

I suppose. I do need a co-DM to handle the finer things, designing dungeons that aren't indecipherable labyrinths being one of those. Your position may be filled by someone else at some point if I feel they'd do better. And co-DMing doesn't exclude you from having a character.

sure, just post or pm a character sheet at some point.

OoC talk is allowed, and you CAN try roleplaying, but if you don't, I can make up stuff to explain your actions. Roleplaying may or may not increase level up chances, depending on circumstances. Don't slow down the adventure too much for it though.

I wanna be a game dev for a living, designing a dungeon would be great practice.
Im thinking of a paranormal zombie-filled dungeon if possible.

Would you really start as 2hd or god forbid 1 hd creature just for the possibility of special abilities? I just don't want people to die in the first fight because they had 10 less hp then everything else. I guess if you really want, I'll consider it depending on the level adjustment creature.

I'll try this out. I'll reserve a spot. Never done this before though so I'm going to look up a bit more info about D&D if I can.

Now I don't have my monster manual here and srd doesn't list it, but doesn't there combined racial hd/level adjustment exceed 3 levels? If not then I guess I'll give it a chance.
And just google 3.5 srd, it has a lot of the stuff you need to start, val.

No, they have to take their first 2 levels in Monstrous Humanoid I think. So it's only sort of racial hit dice.

Alright, thanks. I'll take a look at it tomorrow when I've had decent sleep.

Alright just try not to die before you reach your first level up.
And in the unlikely scenario that more than 6 people are interested, I'll either pick a balanced looking party from y'all or pit some of you against each other in non-canonical gladiatorial combat.
