Thread Title: everyone: Check it out!

hey everyone!
Look, I know that activity around here has been kind of slow, but it's CHRISTMAS BREAK! We all have more free time. No classes, no responsibilities (hehe), no RULES.

Well, of course we have RULES, and as your Admin I will enforce them and uphold the code of forum bushido, but anyways.

You guys know I've been working on something amazing, and I've kept most of you posted, and I know I've been really secretive about it...but...it's finally ready! I know, right? A.G. is finally going to have it's own....

MMORPG

Yes, I am completely serious! I have been working on this sucker for the past few months and it is finally ready to be unveiled! Before your very eyes! What better way to start the new year than by having our own personal RPG as a community. Guys, we've grown really close over the years, talking about video games, comics, and even RPing...and I think this is the next step! We're getting older, we're growing apart, but this can be one last great adventure for us. So, what do you have to do?

Enclosed is a download link to the game I've made. It's called Questure. Get it? Quest + Adventure? Hahahaha, I knew you guys would love it! Basically you just have to download the game, and it'll take a few hours to load. Yeah I know that sounds like a while, but it's late...so just sleep on it! Start playing in the morning! It should work on most operating systems, I've already checked (and yes, especially Macs, jeez).

Ok look, I know I'm being really sketch with the details here, but just download it! I know you might think it's just some kind of....generic adventure RPG or something, but I can guarantee you it's a lot more than that! I've made the game all about personal experience and teamwork, and the level of customization is just...insane. Guys, this is my work of art. My magnus opum, my...Well, whatever, just download it!

Okay guys, here's a new adventure! I know this seems like quite the strange way to begin the thread, and I haven't offered many details, but I think you'll like it. Basically I just need a fun distraction during all of this finals bullshit, and then break will let me update lots too.

Basically it's fairly MSPA-inspired (mainly Homestuck), which could be good or bad depending on if you like the genre or not. I have a pretty concise story planned out so far; however, it's fun to direct the action and fill in the blanks with input.

I'm pretty much just a huge guy, it's probably why people don't give me any problems, you know? runs in the Norris line, DAD's a big guy too, we're just a family of AWESOME and BURLY dudes! i have black hair, usually try to keep that mess short but it's been growing out, and I also have green eyes. man, how detailed is this gonna be? What do you like? pretty much anything MANLY. when it comes to manly things, COOKING is probably the most unabashedly MANLY thing I can think of! slicing meat, chopping veggies, and also baking COOKIES man. some other manly things include FOOTBALL, and OUTDOORSY THINGS, yeah! i also love me some of these VIDEO GAMES!

A young man opens his eyes. He looking around, he sees his room, and he sees his bed.

"Wait..."

Currently lying on the floor of his medium-sized room, wrapped in a patchwork red quilt, Gavan Noriss blinked a few times in order to re-orient himself. His belongings were strewn about his room as if a small typhoon had somehow run its destructive course in his modest 18x20 space. Posters were hanging limply on the wall, and collectibles had treated his quarters like some sort of secret fun dance party. Sitting up and throwing the blanket from his body (and noticing that he had somehow been fully-clothed), Gavan was quick to rise and survey the area.

"Oh FUCK!!"

He was equally-quick to notice that the entire wall opposite his bed had been completely obliterated. A series of jagged faultlines running down the wall like a cobweb gave him the impression that something had just lifted his entire room off of the house and deposited it somewhere else. Perhaps an exceptionally-vindictive tornado had something against him? An array of tree branches and other green tendrils of flora had encroached into his room through the hole. It appeared as if the room had landed in some kind of forest? Checkered sunlight patterned his floor through the tree leaves, and far-off noises permeated the air.

There was a floating ball of light in the center of the room. The size of a baseball and perfectly spherical, it hovered curiously a few feet off of the floor. Gavan stood up.



What will you do?

>Demand the ball of light to tell me why it trashed my pad. It's the onl thing out of the ordinary so it must be the culprit.

A thought glazed over Gavan's mind: clearly this glowing ball of light was the culprit, nothing else was out of the ordinary and these circumstances were highly suspicious! In fact, the more he thought about it, the more sense it made that a light ball would do something exactly like trashing a room! So without another thought, Gavan rushed forward and readied one of his meaty Canadian fists, which were prepared to do the talking.

"Why'd you TRASH MY PAD?!" Gavan roared using the other part of his body most likely to do the talking.

He swatted at the glowing ball of light with a fist, but the chunky bludgeon simply passed right though the ethereal orb. Gavan staggered with the momentum of his hit and fell forward, unprepared to deal with a complete miss. Man, he really should have thought this through...

"hey you, new player!"

Gavan sat up. Did that glowing pansy pixie ball just talk to him?

"hi! I'm a SPRIXITE! i'll be your guide through the first stage of the game? what's your name?"

"Gavan No--"

"that's just great. now we don't have a lot of time to waste, okay? the other players of your session have already woken up and started their TRIALS. figures i'd get stuck with the lazy one! hee hee ha ha!"

"HEY!" Gavan retorted, standing up in a fluster. "I'm not lazy! What are you even TALKING ABOUT?! Session? Other players?"

"well i'd love to take the time to explain this sir gavan, but we should really probably get going! so if you would be so kind and just shut up for a second then we can make this as quick as possible!!"

"Yeah well oka--"

"super! now, your first mission is to locate your SPECIAL ITEM in the TRIAL FOREST. after all of the players have accomplished this, your session will truly begin! the quest ahead of you is both long and arduous, so you should probably pack accordingly. it just so happens that this will be the last time that you see your room, so make sure to grab anything you need, okay?"

"O....kay?" Gavan, not knowing how to respond to this, decided to follow the sprixx-thing's instructions. He turned around and grabbed a BACKPACK from underneath his bed. "I don't know how I'm gonna fit ALL MY STUFF in here!"

No sooner did he yell this than a huge holographic menu of sorts shot out of his backpack and filled the space in the center of his room, seemingly being projected from inside of his bag.

INVENTORY:

It seemed as though there were 52 empty spaces on the screen, along with some other words and columns that he wasn't going to even TRY to bother understanding!

"as you can see, this is your inventory!" The Sprixite instructed. "you can fit 52 items in here, and maybe more depending on how you utilize tools you find later in your adventure! now stop standing around like a slack-jawed moron and grab whatever you need so that we can blow this potion stand!"

>Two meat cleavers, an extra shirt (to replace the one I'm going to inevitably rip off), my best pair of stompin boots, and a sack of ingredients for gramma's famous daisies Awesome Cookies. Just in case, you know.

Okay, before you go any further, that yellow text is just unbearable.

(duly noted! I actually tried a ton of different ones, but I don't really have an eye for colors. Always feel free to tell me when something looks terrible, people)

Gavan followed the Sprixite's orders and at once began wandering around his room, backpack in hand, collecting things. He figured first he'd start with the most absolute necessary things: two meat cleavers lying around all willy-nilly on his desk. As soon as he reached out to touch the blades, he found that they had transformed into compact, card-like representations of themselves! At once, the cards shot into Gavan's inventory screen and he stood with a look of shock.

"Sure, why not..."

The cleavers were of MODERATE QUALITY, and Gavan had to wonder where exactly his most prized and signature cutting utensil had gotten off to...No matter, time was of the essence! He quickly gathered some more items, including the necessary clothes and baking supplies that seemed pertinent for a journey into the woods. He then also grabbed his laptop from the desk, because really you never know.

INVENTORY: MEDIOCRE MEAT CLEAVERS (x2), TEE-SHIRT, STOMPIN' BOOTS, LAPTOP, daisies AWESOME COOKIE INGREDIENTS [FLOUR, COOKIE MIX, SUGAR, CHOCOLATE, BUTTER, BACON BITS]

Gavan noticed that when he grabbed items of the same kind, they would all fly under the same space in his inventory and only take up one space! He wondered how much of each item could be fit into a square, and if there was ANY LIMIT AT ALL!! He also noticed that his GRAMMA's prized cookie recipe was split up into several sub-items as well. NEAT!

He then went over to meet the cheeky Sprixite, who instantly flew over to the opening in his wall. It appeared a dim, forested path led out of his ruined abode.

"okay well if you have everything, then follow me! if not, then keep gathering your silly human things and hurry up!! TRIAL FOREST awaits!"
