The deep web that can't be searched on Google or any other search engine. There is also the TOR network which is part of the deep web. The TOR network is any website with a .onion url the only way to access the deep web is to download TOR https://www.torproject.org. Most of the URLs are random letters like kpvz7ki2v5agwt35.onion (The Hidden Wiki) here is a screen shot of the Hidden Wiki: http://i.imgur.com/Xq7ih.png.

I've been told that it's very easy to stumble upon illegal content and get caught

I have to wonder where all the content comes from.

I mean
an exponentially larger version of the internet
that no one has heard of? How did it actually get so big?

Seems like it's backwards or something.

I guess it kinds of drives home the point home that laws about CP censoring on the Internet are useless since they focus on the surface web exclusively, when almost all of is on the deep web.

If you make a website and don't add a robot.txt to it then its part of the Deep Web. The TOR network isn't all of the deep web. There is also Darknet and plenty other things.

I've always been fascinated with the deep web and I've been meaning to check it out one of these days.

I didn't have a robot.txt and my site still got indexed. I think you need to have domains that use obscure TLDs.

Bitcoins are an interesting thing to me. They're theoretically just as valuable as hard cash, simply because they've had value given to them. Question is how one gets bitcoins and what measures are in place to prevent inflation.

Heard about the Deep Web before. It's a popular place for black market items with said bitcoins, because the coins are untraceable. And with how late law enforcement is getting into the cyber game, I doubt they'll have any kind of handle on the Deep Web for several more years yet.

Thing about bitcoins is that the amount of bitcoins generated are constant so there won't ever be a sudden saturation of the market. The other interesting thing about them is that it has a finite limit of how many can be generated. That means that bitcoins will deflate at some point as the coins can be lost by data loss.

Very interesting concept.

Won't deny I've thought about getting some myself and finding one of the sites that translates them into cash. Fairy valuable from what I remember.

Then I also remember that they're pieces of data and plenty of people far more skilled in computers than I are most likely working on programs that can take bitcoins from other people.
