A poorly drawn being floats through the domain it knows as home. It also knows this domain as Pre-Life. You have not yet been born, or even conceived. You HAVE, however, been chosen to exist! This is what every Premortal dreams of! After eons of working in the Mines of Existence, you finally collected enough Sentient Residue to force yourself up the ranks and make your statement to big-wigs on why you should be chosen to live.
That was what you did LAST century. You've forgotten to change since then, but you don't mind. You look good, and you know it, especially for a miner. Today you're on your way to the Hall of Imminence, where the Mortal Records are stored. All you have to do now is enter yourself into the records, then head over to the World Integration Portals and you'll be alive before you know it!
Ugh. Standard grey Microsoft M.Coils. You should've gone to the North Side Hall of Imminence. They've got the new iExist over there. But alas, you're already here, and you don't really feel like sitting on the bus for fifty years just to get over there.
The big-wigs have already chosen you to be a human, but most of the fields are up to you to decide on. Your choices are...
Gender
Race
Hair Color
Eye Color
and a number of statistical options known as
Eventuality Values or
EVs
Your parents will be chosen by availability, as dictated by the above choices, and they will choose your name. Your eventual outcome, or
Destiny, for all intents and purposes, will be dictated by the
EVs you select. Granted, life is random, but you have some say over how you turn out. You have 10 points to assign to whatever
EVs you choose. You can also select a predetermined
EV array, or roll a dice for random scores, but you want to select your own. Why leave your fate up to chance?
Selectable
EVs are as follows:
Strength (STR) measures your physical power. Some will be necessary if you want to do well at sports, or just keep bullies off your back. Later on, certain jobs or careers may require a high enough STR. And of course, certain romance options may not become available if your STR is too low as a male.
Constitution (CON) represents your health, stamina, and vital force. Higher STR values will be easier to achieve with a high CON, as exercise will be less strenuous. This will also help you wake up early and stay awake during school or work, and even allow you to sleep less altogether.
Dexterity (DEX) measures hand-eye coordination, agility, reflexes, and balance. Paired with a high CHA, you have the potential to be an extremely impressive individual. DEX will help you run fast, and accomplish tasks assigned to you much quicker than you would without it. High DEX will inevitably lead to very interesting (and fun!) career options.
Intelligence (INT) describes how well you learn and reason. High INT will inevitably lead to career options that will make you more cheddar, as you will undoubtedly do well in school and advance fast. Without INT, your conversations will be sloppy at best, and you will miss out on many opportunities.
Wisdom (WIS) measures your common sense, perception, self-discipline, and empathy. A high WIS score will allow you to plan for the future, making you more ready for whatever might come your way. It also dictates how willing you are to sacrifice your own wellbeing for the betterment of others. Without WIS, you will be naive and easily taken advantage of.
Charisma (CHA) measures your force of personality, persuasiveness, and leadership. You'll go far in life with a high CHA score, as you'll undoubtedly make connections, and weasel yourself into many beneficial situations. Higher CHA makes you suave, and better with the opposite sex, while potentially granting the ability to talk your way out of situations that could otherwise prove harmful.
All stats start at 10.
(Pick a gender, race, hair color, and eye color, as well as 3 points for EVs with no more than 2 points in any one EV. Ex: 1 into CHA, 1 into INT, and 1 into STR. OR 2 into CHA and 1 into DEX. But NOT 3 into CHA. When I get back tonight, I'll average the scores and fill the EVs that way.)
