We started talking about it in the art thread, and after asking Dark if it'd be cool to move it to its own thread, I have.
The holidays, or even just the colder months in general can make a lot of people unhappy, even though this should be a merry time of year. Perhaps it is just me, but I seem to be seeing a lot of people on the forum acting as though they are either down in the dumps, or simply angry. I was going to try to change that myself by doing some gift art, but now, we have other lovely people offering to do gift art as Secret Santas!
The first part is easy. If you'd like to participate as a Secret Santa, simply post is this thread stating "I would like to do it!", or something along those lines. I will include a list in this very post, for easy reference. If, for whatever reason, you want your name off the list at a later date, just send me a note and I'll edit this message. Or get Dark to do it, if for some reason I can't.
Many people were already offering to be Secret Santas in the art thread, but to spare confusion, the list will be starting relatively blank in this thread. The only name on it will be mine, to start with.
So even if you have already said you would like to do a Secre Santa exchange in the art thread, please say it again here for easier reference. Thank you!

If for whatever reason, you don't know what a Secret Santa exchange is, or how it works, basically you will offer to be one, and you will be given a name. You must create something for that person (though this started in the art thread, writings, music, whatever is fine too! As long as you put effort into it). You will not necessarily get something in return from that person, unless by chance you are matched together, but your name will be distributed to another person on the list.*
(*This is how I've always known Secret Santas to be done. If a different method would be preferred, please tell me!

As I said, art isn't the only thing you can submit. As long as you put your heart into it and think the person will enjoy it, you can use that as your gift. But something you've made yourself would be preferable.
Anyone else who wants to help me organize this is very much welcome to do so. Just say so here or in a note and we'll talk about what you can do to help.

SOMEONE'S SECRET SANTA. It would only cause problems if multiple people were requesting to do gift art for the same person. The exchange is supposed to be a surprise, and that makes it all the sweeter when someone you wouldn't expect a gift from gives you one. If you want to do art for someone specifically, do it outside of the Secret Santa exchange. I'm sorry, but it's as simple as that.
As a random extra note, if you're sad this winter but don't want to participate, simply drop me a line. I'm still open for free gift art. <3

Tomorrow, most likely in the evening. If I don't get an update on the coding, I'll most likely contact Banana (who offered to help) and Dark in the choosing process. Oh and if people are wondering how people on the list deciding the pairings are going to be surprised by who their secret santa is - that's why I'm getting help doing it. Banana can pick my secret santa and Dark can pick Banana's and I can pick Dark's, or whatever arrangement. So it'll be a surprise even to us.
So PLEEEEEASE be able to check the forum tomorrow, or at least your pms. I don't talk to a lot of people outside of the forum, but so I'll mostly be trying to send off names over here.
PLEASE RESPOND TO THE PM I SEND YOU TELLING YOU WHO YOUR RECEIVER IS. That way I'll know you received it.
If I don't get a response, I will do what I can to find a different means to contact you, but if I can't get any replies before the 22nd, you will unfortunately be considered non-participating, and the person matched to your name will be given a new one. A simple "Okay." is all I need for a reply to know you received the pm and will be getting started.
