 Post subject: The Magnetic Fields and other Stephin Merritt bands

Stephin Merritt is probably my most favorite songwriter. His lyrics can be funny, depressing, cheerful, and more. He writes all of the songs for his bands The Magnetic Fields, The 6ths, and The Gothic Archies, and he helps Chris Ewen with songs for Future Bible Heroes.

For his recent projects he is working on a new album for The Magnetic Fields and has written the songs and lyrics for the Broadway play of Coraline, which I desperately want to see when it comes out.

My favorite albums by him are The Charm of the Highway Strip, Wasps' Nests, and Holiday.
