So has anyone had their Wisdom teeth removed?

I hear stories of 'It doesn't hurt' but...

I need mine taken out...When I can get enough cheddar.

Otherwise whats the most serious surgeries anyone here has ever had?

Oh story time!

About four years ago, when I was thirteen, I needed my wisdom teeth taken out. I have a dainty, womanly jaw, but they were also way too wide, even for wisdom teeth. They were still under the gum, so I had to have oral surgery.

The aftermath wasn't as bad, even though I was completely sedated. They said it was usual to feel groggy and go to sleep afterward, but I was still pretty with it. Had two pills to take daily (plus Tylenol threes) and noodles for a few weeks, but it wasn't that bad.

If you're getting them pulled, I don't know. As long as they don't have too much of the root, I wouldn't expect it to be too bad. Don't worry. :3

Well they are starting to come through the gums (One of them is like half out) and it makes my jaw like PARALYZED WITH PAIN. But we need cheddar for it 'cos my dads insurance doesnt cover it. *shrug* Something about it being considered cosmetic surgery...? o.O

Tylenol threes? Ohh I heard those are strong. 8o They put my dad on those after the Morphene incidents. XD

They are fairly strong. I only took one at a time at that point, but even then I felt very weak and tired.

Last year, I had a root canal, and I accidentally took two of them. I fell asleep for about an hour and a half. xD

As you can imagine, I'm no longer afraid of going to the dentist.

I have had both of my top wisdom teeth removed and it is quite a pain.
More so if playing Yahtzee's games.

If you DO get your teeth removed make sure to do what DC did and play Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus.

I think, dentally, that the worst thing that had happened to me was my teeth growing under my others, but the ones at the bottom would not give way.

For 4 months

And anything of medical assistance was replied with a simple "We'll damage the tooth so you just have to wait.

Because the one that was puching through was undeveloped completley, and taking the bottom one out ment that it was exposed to nasties.

I shouldnt have watched that in the public computer lab here at school. So many people turned their heads at once you'd think I just threw the computer off the desk or something.

Dude, Wisdom teeth hurt liek... Like getting your face ripped off by a monstertruck tire, then superglued back on.

But don't worry. Take two Hydrocodone, and you'll be fine.

I still have my wisdom teeth.
Only surgery I've ever had was a couple years ago. I fell down some steps and it messed up some of my teeth, so I had to have 4 of them removed.
Took about 3 hours, and when I woke up from it my throat was dry.
It was hard to eat because they had put stitches over where the teeth had been.

Wisdom teeth surgery isn't cosmetic.

I got my wisdom teeth removed in November, and it was fairly painless. You're young (I guess), so you'll heal up quickly, if everything goes well and you follow the doctor's orders.

From the sounds of things, it can entirely depend on your dentist or just you in general. I can't say for sure because I haven't had my wisdom teeth removed, but I did have some teeth removed.

One that was removed didn't hurt at all, but the other... They hadn't frozen the area properly, so while my TONGUE felt no pain at all, my jaw decided to let me know just how much it disliked having the other tooth ripped out. I ended up screaming in the dentist's face.

So, yeah, if they freeze it and ask you if it's numb in the right place, make daisies well sure it is. Otherwise... ow.
