So Katie is gonna be at Otakon in Baltimore. It is less than a two hour drive for me, and I would absolutely love to have her autograph my bread. She is the only thing I would be interested in seeing there, however.

Problem: Otakon is charging 100 bucks to get in. No daily passes or anything like that. So if I am not mistaken, I would have to cough up 100 bucks just to come in to see Katie, ask her to autograph my bread, and very likely promptly leave after that transaction. It is slightly tempting to do.

Anyone know if Otakon is lenient on that kinda thing? Like, if I show up on Sunday, is there any chance of, say, a discount or something like that?

It kills me that she is so close, yet so far.

i am not familar with otakon in particular but cons will let you buy a tag for a single day at a cheaper price. though if otakon is charging $100 for day of weekend passes, a day pass will probably be $50 or more. sundays are usually the cheapest as cons typically close around 5pm - so you aren't getting quite a full day of activities. check the website - they should have prices per day and per weekend etc. somewhere on there.

The registration thingy actually closed about an hour ago, but it explicitly stated that they do not sell day passes. I don't know if that's really how they do it, or if that's just the official statement but are actually lenient with people who show up last day... or something.

Otakon is different than most conventions as they sell "memberships" to the nonprofit org that runs Otakon instead of tickets or passes like an event. Everything Ive read is they havent done individual day passes in awhile and if there were individual day passes I havent found anything, so your best bet is maybe see on twitter if Katies doing a meetup of any kind.
